Really???

First of all, we were expected to call our young waiter Mr. XXXX. Everyone there was Mr. XXXX. Immediately that put a barrier between our server and us. It strongly diminised the personal and intimate relationship. Prime rib was not that good. Outback has just as good prime rib at much less the price. My companion and I both ordered the Souffle desert, but only got one and since it takes 25 minutes to cook, we scratched the 2nd one. Our waiter took responsibility, but we weren't even offered a comp. Ultimately I was glad to not have to have two. I did NOT like it. It is like baked calf slobber. Over all, I am glad we went. Now we know and don't have to ever return.
Lawry's Not So Prime Rib

Party of 16 with reservations went there for Mother's Day. We were called back to our tables, which were not ready. Hostess admitted it was her fault, but no apology or offer of any compensation. We all stood around the tables for about 15 minutes while they tried to get the settings correct. Food was overpriced and overrated. Very so-so steak. No one was impressed with prime rib either. Very poor service and well below average food quality. Last time any of us will go there for any occasion.

I've been to alot of steakhouses. Ordered their prime rib. I walked out feeling...eh. I walk into Lawry's. Order their Lawry Cut . The prime rib here is OUTSTANDING. So tender, so sweet. My mouth waters just typing. My dad doesn't really like meat, but I took him here and he even concurs!!! Everytime I have an out of town client come into town, Lawry's is my choice for fine dining.
- Pros: The Lawry Cut, Anniversary "comps" Excellent Service
- Cons: Didn't enjoy my side dishes
Elegant, delicious experience...

Lawry's is a fanastic restaurant to visit with family or someone special! The decor is very sophisticated, old-money, without being pretentious. Reservations do not guarantee that the table is ready when you arrivfe, but usually ensure quicker seating. Dress is business casual, though we did see a party waiting in jeans and medical scrubs...but don't go there, it was not appropriate. Service was prompt and very polite, which I even noticed at surrounding tables under difference wait staff...there really is a difference when your waiter is clearly an established, experienced professional (versus someone waiting tables through college). The food is fantastic...even the complementary, warm sourdough bread! I got the ceasar salad, filet mignon with parmesan crusted au gratin potatos (which were heavenly and decadent) and onion crisps. Our desert, creme brulee with fruit, was the only thing that was just so-so. Feel free to play around with Lawry's signature spices on each table, which really add a lot to an already awesome feast! I highly recommend Lawry's for a special evening and wonderful steak. It is quite an experience!
- Pros: Food, service, ambiance, comfortable seating, complementary valet parking
- Cons: Still had to wait with reservations
I love this place!

I have been dining here for the past 4 years and I absolutely love this place! I only eat prime rib when I go here. They do an excellent job with their food and the service is the best around. I do miss the old uniforms because they added an air of sophistication that is somewhat missing with the new more casual uniforms. However, this place should be packed every weekend because it has it all - beautiful decor, great food, wonderful service, and an awesome location.
- Pros: Awesome food and great service
- Cons: I miss the starched uniforms
