I joined Power Play in 2004 after several unsuccessful relationships with chain gyms -- the only thing lighter was my bank account. You know the drill -- you join thinking if you are paying a fee, it will get you to the gym, right? Not so much. If you aren't comfortable, you can find all sorts of excuses to justify passing the place on your way home every day. Well, not at Power Play. The staff are genuinely concerned with your health, fitness and even your happiness. You become part of the family and when you aren't there, you are missed -- and you miss being there. And I don't mean that they make you feel guilty if you aren't there sweating every day, either. The trainers on staff are not your average 24-Hour Fitness-took some classes on line and want to be a trainer now-types. They are professionals with lengthy credentials, licenses and certifications. Most of them train pro athletes, yet they are able to adapt to any fitness level with no judgment. They can empower even the most intimidated fitness novice and really make you believe that you can accomplish your fitness goals -- even if you've tried and failed many times before. That's the amazing thing about this place -- such a wide diversity of fitness levels amongst the members, but everyone is treated equally. It is just an amazing place that you really have to experience for yourself to fully understand.
