Great "date night" spot
by ShawnE
I have been to Luna De Noche several times, and am finally getting down to my review. This is a great spot to meet friends during the day, or to have a romatic "date night" evening. The food is wonderful, and the wait staff has always been very attentive. The guacamole is some of the best I have tasted, and is kept simple and fresh. The fish tacos (one of my determining factors for a tex-mex restaurant along with tortilla soup) are some of the best I have ever had. I definitely highly reccommend this restaurant to anyone with a taste for Tex-mex.
- Pros: Guacamole, Fish Tacos, Tortilla Soup
- Cons: ...a bit high on the prices?
Perfect for "date night"
by ShawnEwert
Being married for a few years now, we don't always make the time to go out for a nice dinner. Last week, we decided to go to Luna de Noche, and it was wonderful. The tortilla soup is fresh and flavorful, the fresh guacamole made to order was fantastic, and the fish tacos were amazing. I judge a place by how well they can make their fish tacos, and LdN definitely passes the test with flying colors. The atmosphere is perfect for a date on the patio, or a family get-together. The sizable dining room makes it easy to forget you are not alone.
Great Mexican Dishes

I love the way this place looks, even the bathrooms are gorgeous!! My brother took me here while I was in town on a vacation and I have to say, it was really really great. The service was impeccable, very prompt and friendly. The food portions were generous and delicious. I had tacos and tamales which were just made perfectly and full of flavor!
Huge Potions

The waiter claimed they had the best tortilla soup, and I must say it was delicious. I dont know if it was the best because it was the only time I have ever had it. The portions were ginourmous and everyone I was with enjoyed their food.
- Pros: Serving Size
- Cons: Low Lighting
Great food
by heathermoschinger
The food is awsome, and the atmosphere is romantic, however i was really upset when they sat us next to a party of 20-25 our waiter was wating that table so we got the ignore. There should have been some better planning on the staff's part. Other than that, great food.
- Pros: Great food, and no wait
- Cons: No common Since
Best Salsa Ever Tasted, Great Service
by papace
We are from Houston and eat a log of tex-mex food but this has to be the best. The atmosphere is calming and the food is great. The service is 5 STAR ask for Rocky (very attentive waiter). The Margaritas will knock your socks off especially the Banana. We are here for 3 days and believe me we will be returning.
We were at a peak serving time and within 7 minutes from order we had our food. yummm yumm.
We would defiantly recommend Luna de Noche to friends and family. I sure hope the owner would consider opening up one in Houston (and believe me it would expand to more than one).
To summarize this up ---- Its the best of the best.
Girls night out gone right!
by jennypt
This is the BEST Mexican food in the Plano area. The salsa is so good you will want to drink it (I am not kidding!)...speaking of drinks, you can't have a girls night out without the margaritas. Luna de Noche knows how to do a margarita right! They have a fabulous tortilla soup that is light enough to enjoy before a meal. If you love your mama's homemade sour cream enchiladas you should try these...they'll beat your mama's handsdown. I must mention that the service is fantastic!!! You will not regret meeting at Luna de Noche for a girl's night out or for a date with your sweetie!!!
- Pros: Service, Salsa, Enchiladas
Best Tex/Mex ever!
by g2lee
I travelled to Dallas frequently for business this year and had an opportunity to try many restaurants using my expense account. Of all the restaurants I tried, this is the best one in Dallas. I loved the free salsa, the tortilla soup, and their avacado salad. Everything I tried from their grill, like shrimp and chicken, was great too. The service too was superb like the other reviewers said. Even if it wasn't on company expense, this is an affordable restaurant and I would come here on my own if I was on vacation.
- Pros: Salsa, Tortilla soup
- Cons: None
Kinetic art, killer margaritas and standout food at good prices make for a vibrant, memorable dining experience in North Dallas.

The Scene
Luna de Noche is renowned for its contemporary, twinkly, romantic decor. Modern canvases featuring inky blues and shimmering silvers dash about the dark wood paneling, and intertwined stars and a crescent moon commingle on the entryway near the bar. Brightly colored wall sconces add a warm glow to the dining room, where it's noisy enough to make it festive without drowning out an intimate conversation. Luna may be a local chain, but it has none of the plastic prefab vibe.
The Food
Like the decor, the food isn't cookie-cutter. Take the Camarones de la Casa: the chef stuffs butterfly jumbo shrimp with pecans, wraps them in bacon, grills them, then douses the whole thing with a spicy, melted tomato-chedder confection. The steaming tortilla soup may be the best in town. Tacos flirt with sweet roasted pork instead of beef. A caliente rub marries brilliantly with a juicy grilled salmon.
Yum!
