Not a good experience.... I have always liked the restaurant, great food, great service. However after yesterdays experience, I will not be returning. I took my office of seven for a lunch birthday. The food was excellent and the service average.

Upon waiting for the check I told the rest of the office I would take care of the check and they left.

The waiter returned with a plate of dessert for the bday girl. I apologized that she had already left and stated that if I knew he was going to bring her desert we would have stayed.

He then gave me the check.

Interestingly enough, he charged me for the desert we never asked for!

In addition there was a 20% gratuity charge added without my knowledge. There is no mention of any gratuity charge on the menu. In addition, when I called following the lunch, they mentioned gratuity would only be charged for parties of 8 or more. We were only six in total. Then why were we charged a gratuity?

I will be returning to speak to the manager.

It is unfortunate because they do have great food.

I love coming here in the Summer. I really love coming here during the summer and sitting on the patio. They normally have the mist fan going so the heat is not really an issue. The servers are great and I enjoy the food. You have to order at least 1 Mambo Taxi when you visit!

Best Margaritas anywhere!. We have been customers for about 7 years. Our first experience was at the Skillman/Kingsley location. It's still my favorite. We have been to Legacy, Campbell, and other locations. When they are busy, yes, it's slow getting a table, but worth the wait. The chips are crisp, never greasy, the salsa is just right, and we have tried many items on the menu. The tacos de brisket are my hands-down favorite, with the cilantro rice and the avocado salad. And, in my opinion they make the best Margaritas on-the-rocks around- except for my daughter's margaritas!. We have entertained friends from out of town and from across the pond and they all are impressed with the food and the quiet, unassuming service. Thanks, Mi Cocina!!!

Best and Most Original Mexican in the area. If you're visiting Texas and want to try some good, authentic Mexican food with a Texas twist, this is the place for you. With trendy decor and a very unique menu, you'll feel like you're having a true experience. If you sit outside at night, it's romantic with the waterfalls and lighting. I've had several things on the menu and would recommend everything. I have to say my favorite item has been the Brisket Tacos with avocado. Talk about Tex-Mex! The chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce are also wonderful. Great fajitas as well. I've been there so many times during the last few months, both for lunch and dinner, and have never had a wait. Highly recommended!

Take your business somewhere else!. One of the most unprofessional establishments in the Las Colinas area. I called the day before to ask about a reservation, I was told they would have be able to accommodate our large party and that it was not problem. Upon arival we were told no reservation existed, I advised who I had spoke with, he openely lied and said he had never spoke with me and that they don't even take reservations. They then refused to do separate checks and would only do 4 transactions for a party of 25. Did they expect one person to pick up the bill or something! I told them they were about to lose over $300 in business and the manager simply said "oh well"

This local chain combines Tex-Mex fare with exceptional service to create a fine dining experience at a great price.. In Short
Mi Cocina has grown to local chain cult status. The Irving location features a clean, modern decor and about 50 tables, which often yields a wait because of the chain's substantial popularity. Food ranges from a lively Caldo Xochitl, a chicken consommé, to sweet and tender pork tamales. The portions aren't huge, the appetizers typically serving two, and the food is super-fresh, so expect to leave without the tortilla chip guilt.

Mi Cocina - Overrated. I love their Sunset Fajitas, but everything else fails to impress. They have the worst margaritas I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. At least they can't screw up a bottle of beer. Overall this place is pricey for Mexican food and vastly overrated by most people. Have been dragged there by friends too many times. Much better Mexican food options available
