I really love the rice bowls here...especially the Thai Green Curry with Shrimp or Chicken (but only if you like things really spicy!). The patio is a great place to sit outside and relax too.
- Pros: Food, Patio

I was astonished to read the review by fireman77. I am a frequent patron of Tom Toms and my food has always been superior and the service very accommodating. The Pad Thai is actually one of my favorite dishes on the menu, so it puzzles me to read such a negative comment. Another favorite of mine is the Chargrilled Beef Tenderloin. The meat just melts in your mouth and the curry sauce has a very pleasing balance of sweetness and spiciness. Of course, I always leave room for dessert, especially the Hot Cheesecake and Chocolate Sake Truffles. If you have never been to Tom Tom's, you need try it!! I promise, you will not be disappointed.
- Pros: Very diverse menu
- Cons: None

After doing my research online and seeing all the positive reviews (all but one that read like a disgruntled employee or a jealous competitor), I thought I would give "Tom Tom's" a try. I started with the Mango Sake Pork Ribs and was instantly in heaven. I found out they just started a $1 Rib Night on Tuesdays, so trust me I will become a Tuesday night regular. Then I shared the Szechuan Beef, Vegetable Fried Rice (we added chicken), and the Chargrilled Beef Tenderloin. I was once again delighted. The Fried Rice was the best ever (not greasy like most Asian restaurants). I thought the wide noodles were a nice touch to the Szechuan Beef, and my taste buds were tingling with the incredible flavor of the Chargrilled Beef Tenderloin. Of course we had to order dessert, so we followed one of the online recommendations and ordered the cheesecake. OMG X 3!!! This is the best dessert EVER!!! I will definitely be going back to Tom Tom's and bring my friends. This was truly a dining experience!
- Pros: Very Affordable!
Tom tom = bland bland or in this case...salty salty

Ordered the Beef Chow Fun. Beef flat noodles. I wish it came with rice, because it was a salt bomb. I appreciate the outdoor dining, and the open kitchen, but this type of cuisine is really catered towards the american palate. My date ordered the pad thai, and the sauce thrown on it was the sweet and sour chicken sauce. There was nothing pad thai about it. Mostly noodles and no other ingredients. The Beef Chow Fun @ First Chinese in Richardson is 10x better. Anyway, we were still hungry and so disappointed that we ended up getting sweet potato fries next door @ Village Burger.
- Pros: Ambience, open kitchen...
- Cons: Should be called "Haam haam" Sr. Jose cooking instead of Mr. Chow Yung Fat. Not really authentic

Every time I have been to Tom Tom Asian Grill, I have been more than pleased with the service, atmosphere, and my food. The servers are friendly and extremely knowledgable about the menu. The atmosphere is casual but still chic, especially the patio. Everything I have ever ordered there has been fantastic. Tom Tom is quickly becoming one of my very favorite restaurants.
- Pros: Great menu and expert service
- Cons: No cons!

My friends recently took me to a restaurant in the West Village and I have to say that it was amazing. The scene was what the West Village crowd is used to; trendy and happening. The restaurant Tom Tom Asian Grill. I rarely frequent the West Village as it's beyond the 635 loop but it has to be a place that is so mellow, so chill, so happening, and amazing food.
We went on a Saturday night so they were super packed. We placed our names on the list and shortly reached our table. As I am an adventurous eater, I noticed the Spicy Coconut Chicken dish. I like to quiz waiters so I asked my server what the dish was all about. He ranted and raved about this dish that there was no way that I could pass it up. It was amazing! Sweet, spicy, and most of all edible!
We had a few drinks that the server suggested. I had the Pear Martini and my friends raved about the Blackberry Mojitos.
The service great! The food amazing! Thanks to my friends, I have a new place to eat in the West Village:-)
Asian Grill in West Village may not be as "street-wise" as it claims, but it does the trick.

The Scene
The attractive, well-dressed clientele along with the upscale decor immediately derail the efforts of Tom Tom management that bills this Pan-Asian restaurant as "the kind of place you might pop into on the streets of any Asian town." The busy main dining area (with a standard open kitchen/sushi bar) and a separate, smaller dining area are fitted with Chinese box lighting, burgundy banquette booths, tables for two and honey-blonde floors. A small bar sports a couple of TVs.
The Food
The Tom Tom sushi roll and crispy wrapped prawns kicked things off nicely. The rock shrimp with Asian greens was the perfect blend of seafood, snow peas, Chinese broccoli and bell peppers served artfully on a bed of soba noodles with a lime soy sauce while the chicken coconut curry with its chow fun noodles, cream of coconut curry and bok choy sauce made for a creamy consistency with a kick.
Hits: Located on the Village's north side, parking for Tom Tom is a snap and getting in and out was much easier than expected. Prompt service underscored the dining experience.
Misses: We were seated in a small booth next to the door on a blustery, rainy evening. Every time the door opened, we felt a small chill.
The editorial pretty much sums it up.

This place could be waaay more pretentious (snobby) than it is, but they've managed to stay really down-to-earth and consistently provide great service; the last time I was there I noticed the hosts constantly running to and fro scouting for open tables to keep everyone happy. I appreciate that. The food is cheap but only because the portions are fairly small and not prepared that well, especially the sushi. Considering the portions, I'd say the sushi is on the overpriced side, actually, if still cheap overall. But who cares if you're there to see-and-be-seen, right? I'd recommend this place for the atmosphere alone.
- Pros: Surprisingly friendly place, despite the hipster atmosphere.
- Cons: Uninspired food; not a great value for sushi, though it's cheap overall.
