Worst "business" to work with EVER....

So this guy was asleep at the wheel, ran a red light & totaled my car (but not a scratch to his big truck ofcourse). So how hard could this possibly be to get the very small amount that they are offering me? Well, 3 months later I am still waiting for them to come get my car & for my money. I was also injured, but have still not been seen or rec'd anything from them regarding the issues. I have yet to receive anything in writing from this horrible place. My aweful claims rep, Antonia, has yelled at me, hung up on me & refused to transfer me to her boss. I have since tried to get into contact with her boss & cannot get a return call. All in all this is obviously a horrible company to deal with & I pray that if I am at fault in an accident that my insurance company won't treat the victim this badly. Personally, I think being injured & having my car totaled was tramatic enough, but honestly working with this company is much much worse of an experience.

Service in name only

The experiences of other posters correlate with mine. A month after the accident and 2 weeks after providing UAIC with a copy of the police report they have yet to issue a clam denial so that I can have my car repaired under my uninsured motorist coverage. Be aware that non-standard auto insurance companies in TX can write policies limiting coverage to only those drivers specified on the policy. Apparently makes no difference if the insured driver is in the vehicle, but not driving. With policies like this on Texas vehicles you are pretty much forced to carry uninsured motorist coverage.

Criminal Activity at this company

I was rear ended at a red light. I was at a complete stop. The person that rear-ended me was insured by united, did not speak english, and did not show a TDL. I spoke to united, received a claim number, and an appointment for an estimate. I kept that appointment in good faith - never heard from an adjuster. After many unreturned phone calls the adjuster finally contacted me to tell me my claim was denied because the man who ran into me said i put my car in REVERSE and ran into him - a fraudulent statement. i have 2 witnesses to testify to the truth but United will not contact them because they work at the same company i do - the accident occurred 2 miles from my office during lunch hour. i have filed a complaint with TDI and the Fraud unit of TDI, and the Better Business B, and ICE. This policy was good for 30 DAYS!!! United is taking money from questionable consumers and refusing to pay legitimate claims. I will file a complaint in every state they do business in.

I encourage ALL of you to file complaints. Better Bus B refused to pursue this - I am still waiting on TDI to determine what that outcome will be. I have kept all of my documentation. I will go to the media and expose this company next. They are accepting false statements (a felony) and are accessories to these crimes. They will be held responsible.

Motorcycle Accident

I was sideswiped by a driver with this insurance company back on March 14, 2008. Broke my foot, messed up my bike, she got a ticket and another biker was an eyewitness. I hired a local law firm to handle my case. After 7 months they get a letter from United Automobile Insurance Services claiming they cant get in touch with there insured and deny the claim and that my only recourse is to either submit the claim to my insurance company or go after there insured directly. My lawyer (the lame duck he is) sends me a letter dropping my case. So 7 months later, my bikes still wrecked, my foot still has a lump on it and Im back at friggin square one with these scammers. Needless to say I am filing all the complaints I can.

Regardless of fault, do not pursue a claim with this company!!!

I'm currently entangled with this hoax of a company. I've had every bit of the same issues that people have listed below. A few things I've learned: Do NOT let them tell you they will only pay you $25.00/day for a rental car. I have confirmed with the Texas Department of Insurance that if the insurance company accepts legal liability for the accident, they HAVE to cover a rental that is comparable to your vehicle, whatever that costs. The same goes for the length of time that you have the rental. United tried to tell me that they would only cover a vehicle for 30 days. This is false. According to the TDI, they have to cover the full length of time your car is in the shop whether that is 2 months or 10. I was not at fault in this accident and this was the other person's insurance company but I should have made the claim on my own insurance and let them pursue this insurance company. I would have been out the deductible up front but they would have recovered it for me plus gotten my car repaired in a proper and timely fashion, covered my rental and saved me countless hours on the phone and headache. I STRONGLY recommend anyone that reads this do the same. United has held my car hostage for 2 months now by not paying for the last of the repairs. Now that its hopefully almost over, I can only say STAY ON THEM if you are already involved in a case with them. And I mean every day. They will be rude and condescending (supervisor Keith) but know your facts and don't let up. Its the only way I've been able to get anything done.

ALL ABOUT THEIR BENJAMINS

May 9, 2008 an insured party of United Automobile Insurance Company ran into our business. Now, the insured stated that he gave the unlisted driver premission to drive his vehicle and stated this information to UAIC. Please be advised that there was no waiver signed by the driver, therefore, UAIC is liable. They feel that since they have not spoken to the driver, not the insured who is the responsible party for payment of the policy, the claim is denied. NO, I don't think so!!!!! UNITED AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE COMPANY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS CLAIM!!!!! I have written the Texas Department of Insurance and filed a complaint and will file complaints with every and anyone possible. UAIC is ALL ABOUT THEIR BENJAMINS!!!!!!!!

never ever work with this insurance people

i have been working with this united insurance for over 8 months .can some one help me out .i had a law firm represent me and can't accomplish nothing .going to court .need help.lost my car .did not work fo two moths lost my job can some one suggest anything .rude all the way and dont have any respect to the law or the justice department .policy with this people is worth nothing.i"am going to do what ever it takes to take them out of business.

Avoid at ALL Costs...My Rating is one b/c I HAD to choose a rating.

I knew there was going to be a problem with this company after I couldn't even find the number on the insured's card/paper, but I chose to ignore it. Bad decision. My accident occurred on June 2, 2008....today is July 28, 2008. That should be enough said, but I'll go further. I have NEVER had a call from the adjuster, Maria Overa or her supervisor, Mike Pace. And I've called at least twice a day, everyday, since June 4th. There was communication to Dawn, the head supervisor of them both after three weeks (which is very unacceptable)...but after getting my verbal statement--which, should have been recorded and was not.--there was no call stating an intent to accept responsibility. Today I was hung up on by the adjuster, Maria. So if I have to fly to Dallas, find her, and beat her into fixing my vehicle I will do it. My advice? If you ever have are going to file a claim through United Auto and it is not your fault, I'd HIGHLY advise suing the person (and kindly explaining it is nothing personal)...and let THEM battle the insurance company.

Customer service is awful, ridiculous. The company--in their pathetic attempt to save money--is even more horrible. I work for a company who has been rated #1 in Customer service two years in a row. It is a shame to know all representatives who work for that company are an awful representation of the "mission statement." Because it seems to be to "tick people off."

God help you if you have to deal with this company!

I hate to choose a one star even as a rating for this so called company. Through no fault of my own I have had to deal with this company. I have been given 3 names of adjusters to deal with. Rebecca has never returned any of my calls. Deborah, who no one seems to know, said she approved my check to be sent out for repairs of my yard, fence and shrubbery. Still no check and reps. say only address has been confirmed.. no check approved or sent. A different story every time. Left messages with supervisor named Cheryl. Not one return phone call. This is all out of the Dallas office. I even called the corporate office in Miami and they rudely stated they could not help me and cut me off and transferred me back to the Dallas office. Their mission statement means nothing. Most people are rude and don 't care about your claim.... anything to keep putting you off. I left another message with supposedly an even bigger supervisor named Howard today. My bet is he doesn't call either. Well I don't quit or give up and I will fight all the way. I can't even wish you luck with this secondhand company if you end up having to deal with them. They are worthless.

Stay away, beware!

I had and still have a bad experience with this company. I made the mistake of filing a claim, because what the appraisor estimated minus my deductible, it won't even cover the price of the windshield which he said needs to be replaced. When I went to my agent today, they told me to get estimates from body shops, but it won't do me any good because I'm still oing to have out of pocket expenses plus the rental the insurance did not include in the estimate.

I have never had an insurance company treat me that poorly. Instead of getting my hood repaired, I will just pay for the windshield myself and tell them to cancell that claim. But I also plan to make many complaints about this company and also report them to the state board of insurance. I'm also planning on switching car insurance. Not staying with this one. I thought I was better treated paying full coverage, until it was time to file a claim.

Update. Texas Department of insurance did nothing but praise UAIS. So if someone takes UAIS to court, look me up. I have since gone to another insurance company, a more reputable one.
