Great neighborhood hangout!

Loretta's is a gem of a neighborhood restaurant! The ambience is wonderfully eclectic with bright and fun artwork and interiors. My husband had the huevos rancheros brunch, and the eggs were scrumptious. We snacked on a generous portion of guacamole and chips, and I hardly had room for my delicious spinach and mushroom quesadillas. The quesadillas were the most buttery, rich bites and much better than the usual goey tasteless stuff that you have to pour hot sauce on to make flavorful. My husband is a beef eater and I prefer veggies, so it was nice to finally see a menu that was well balanced for carnivores and herbivores! Will definitely make it a weekly occurrence!
- Pros: Friendly Staff, Ambience, Menu
- Cons: Small

The food is OK, some days are better than others from my experience. I was not happy when ash trays were distributed when I was there one night and that was hard to take when a number of people lit up. It was a fun place atmosphere until then.
- Pros: Neighborhood, easy-going establishment, inexpensive
- Cons: Juke box too loud sometimes for dining and talking.
Great neighborhood bar and the best BLT in town.

Loretta's has been a great addition to our neighborhoods in Oak Cliff. The staff is really friendly and they go out of their way to accommodate you. The food is better than your average bar food. In fact, it's really good. The BLT is about the best I have ever had. The burgers and the grilled chicken sandwich are terrific. The spinach salad is great and so are the soups. The fish and steak entrees are inconsistent, but can be quite good and the artichocke appetizer is perfect for a quick snack. It can get loud late at night, but that's when the fun starts. The jukebox is great and they'll change the TV channel to whatever interests you. Also good for take out
- Pros: service, friendly staff, good food
- Cons: parking

Hey North Oak Cliff, here comes Cheers, only better! Although atmosphere may be what draws many in, don't forget to try their special cuisine. Personally, I think their hamburger and fries rank right up there with the best in town. But if you're in the mood for a more refined entree, try the Chicken Pechuga alla Loretta. It's not on the menu, so you have to ask for it. It's a very tender breast of chicken smothered in a rich home made sour cream sauce, covered with melted cheese, with a hint of chipotle. For $9.95, it also comes with rice and delicious black bean soup. These are my faves, but others talk up their new quesadillas and nachos, which I have yet to try. I am not an employee, but I am a neighbor who truly enjoys this "kick back and relax" atmosphere, juke box and full bar included.
- Pros: Great atmosphere , Reasonable, Great Food

In Short
Avocado and bright blue walls, tabletops inlaid with Mexican tiles, and a concrete bar covered in crenellated tin siding exude south-of-the-border charm in this hidden find just a stone's throw from Bishop Arts District. The food is standard American; plates of fresh fish, grilled chicken, soups, and salads. The spinach salad, made with smoked bacon, egg and Loretta's secret sauce, is popular. Insomniacs will appreciate Loretta's late hours, it's open until 2am nightly.
$3.50 for chips and salsa

First things first - Casa Francisco was my favorite Mexican restaurant. Loretta's charges $3.50 for chips and salsa, and some of the items on the menu are described as "slightly spicy." They've brightened the spot and it looks very cute. I had the Cobb salad and the portion was generous, but the salad itself was average. Perhaps they could make a go of it in Bishop Arts, but if you want to try Loretta's, go quickly because it can't last in this location.
