I enjoyed this Bohemian wine place because the staff were friendly and had a fun atmosphere last Saturday. They actually had a massage therapist just after I got off work and I had a 15 minute chair massage! I had a glass of Mil Piedras Argentine Malbec and it was wonderful. Then they recommended my girlfriend and I to York Street restaurant and got us reservations and it was wonderful too!! I would highly recommend this Wine Therapist!!
Pros: great wine

I wondered what the heck the Wine Therapist was when I saw the sign---was it a place for problem drinkers? I was delighted to find it was a very relaxed wine store/bar--obviously these people have a sense of humor. The service was more European----the girl let me try 2 samples and I found a nice Spanish Grenache. I also said I was hungry so she gave me a few menus and I ordered a small pizza from Scalini's. Next I had a glass of Austrian Zweigelt, which I hadn't had before and it was very smooth and a nice change of pace. All in all, a nice neighbourhoody place to visit.
Pros: good wines and fun atmoshpere

We are out of town wine enthusiasts and researched this establishment on Citysearch. Since it was the top rated in Dallas we were excited and had high expectations. We were very dissapointed to say the least! Very limited wine selection, unorganized store, and very unfriendly people/atmoshphere. A real let down.

I first visited the Wine Therapist to add to my at-home collection. I thought I would spend more money here because of the specialty atmosphere, but at least I would know what to look for in the future. I was delighted to find that, not only is the selection is far superior to what I would find at many other stores, but the assistance I received was exceptional...World Market couldn't even beat the prices on some of the wines! They have even offered to let me taste some of the wines I wasn't sure about...I bought them all! I continue to return to the Therapist, as I can spend as much or as little as I want on a quality bottle of wine, can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and drink my wine there for only a $2 corkage! "shamilton"...maybe your bottle was more because of tax and corkage?
Pros: relaxed atmosphere, competitive pricing, great events

I enjoyed visiting this store the other night. They had more than just supermarket or bulk wines you'd find at the liquor store, but had some really cool small producers I'd only seen when in California. The wines on the wall were all pretty good deals, but I wanted something better and that's when I realized that the wine guy would go the extra mile, and he found me his last bottle of Plumpjack in the cellar which I couldn't find anywhere else. Sure, he upsold me, but life to short to drink plonk when you've got a really good job.
Pros: Had Hard to Get Wines, Nice Girl Bartender, Riedel Glasses

The Wine Therapist in Lakewood is a fun bohemian place to go. Michael Tillman is awesome on Thursday nights playing classical guitar and the Wednesday night wine tastings are fun too. I did a Champagne tasting recently and tasted some really nice grand-cru Champagnes and especially like the Ruinart blanc de blancs which I can't find anywhere else in town. They are very generous with samples and allow you to taste before you get a glass. I special order a lot of my wines and have a great relationship with the wine guy--he'll get me whatever I want. Also they sometimes have a massage therapist doing chair massages in the early evening which is definitely a great..
Pros: nice selection, boutique wines, will find anything

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly; however, on a recent visit, my boyfriend and I were looking for a bottle of wine that was between $25 and $35. We asked for the bartender's recommendation in that price range. He recommended a great bottle, however after enjoying it at the bar, we realized that it was a $45 bottle of wine. It wasn't that big of deal, we just felt slighted that he didn't mention that his recommendation was more than we wanted to pay that night. It was a downer that we blindly trusted his recommendation on good faith and that he was just looking to maximize his profits...
Pros: Location, Atmosphere, Versatility
Cons: Shady Bartender

The Wine Therapist is my favorite wine store because the wines they have are from some of the finest importers and at a great price. I get to taste as an insurance policy, so I go home with something I know I like! What's cool about the Wine Therapist is they have art every season and a theme, so the tasting menu stays fresh, yet focused. They even have a massage therapist sometimes during the day! I can take my computer in for a wifi hookup and they are open every day. The people there aren't pretentious but are very "Lakewood". When I buy a case or more, they hook me up with a great discount for boutique wines I can't get at the liquor store!
Pros: Taste Before You Buy!, Good Parking, Art
Cons: Need More Wine Ther
