The best burgers EVER!!!

They have great food,not only burgers are delicious but their desserts,like fried brownies-heaven!!! I spent delightful evening at Jake's.They have beautiful patio with amazing palm trees and colourful flowers.They have pool table,darts and game room.Staff is very friendly and the service is great. Relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely go back.

Horror stories of the cigarette smoke don't appear to be true for daytime. A/C in main room, windows open on enclosed patio, plenty of shade on outdoor patio. Weekend lunch crowd consisted of families, the elderly, quiet locals. We expect the atmosphere there is quite different after dark. Food tasted fresh and was truly delicious. Portions are HUGE, so consider ordering on the "light" side and you'll still get plenty. Prices are extremely reasonable for even half of what they give you. Service was friendly and attentive. Only drawback is that the parking lot is very small and hard to manuveur -- bear that in mind if going with a group or during peak times.

Best burger in Dallas!

I've been on the hunt for the best burger in Dallas, and Jake's wins hands down. Thin burger patties are sandwiched between a sesame bun and are more than filling. If you have room, order an Oreo Shake - another best of Dallas. I don't recommend the cheese fries.

Jakes is great for exactly what you want when it comes to beer and burgers. Durring the day time it is a great burger joint. Food is great and the staff is quick and attentive. The after work crowd is perfect for winding down after a good hard day at work. Happy hour specials are great tasting and easy on the wallet. The evening crowd is better especially when the game is on. The food can't be beat. Drinks are some of the best in town made just the way you like them. Wait staff are the best around. They are quick, helpful, and SUPER HOT! There are plenty of flat screen tv's everywhere you look you can see the game. There is a Quality pool table and darts on request. If you are looking for the perfect place to eat and the best place to have a good time Check out JAKES.

Very Good Food, but CHOKING CIGARETTE SMOKE

First, the "Smoking: Outside Only" designation in the restaurant info box for this establishment is INCORRECT. Jake's Joint is first and foremost a suffocatingly cigarette smoke-filled bar. The place consists of one small dining room, an outdoor covered patio with a pool table, and an open-air patio in front bordering Parker Rd. The indoor dining room is small (maybe 25' x 50') and contains tables and a bar. Half of the tables are smoking, the other half 'non-smoking.' Patrons may also smoke at the bar. Translation: ALL smoking. And the night we visited, pretty much everyone on the smoking side and at the bar were smoking. We had to sit outside on a 50 something degree night just to avoid the smoke. Inside the building is a game room in which no one under 21 is allowed as the room reportedly houses faux gambling machines (what we were told, but didn't look). So the 'not for children' designation is accurate.
Aside from the stifling smoke, the food was really good, and relatively inexpensive. We had the Jake's special burger and fries...both very good. The service was very friendly and the food arrived quickly after the order was placed. If we go back to Jake's Joint, we'll likely call in an order to go and eat at home...anything to avoid the gross smell of the dining room of this otherwise decent place.

Sleazy bar atmosphere with burgers

With a 9.2 rating, I was expecting something special. I just got back from Jakes in Plano and I wasn't impressed at all.
Jakes has burgers and chicken and fries. They have beer and margaritas. I had a swiss mushroom burger, cheddar fries, a frozen margarita.
The burger tasted good. I don't know if it was any better than any other mom and pop burger joint, though.
The cheddar fries were OK. They were fries covered with a bunch melted cheddar cheese.
The margarita was OK. It was $3.
The atmosphere of the place is that of a bar with neon beer signs all over, small tvs with sports, poker video games. Nothing special.
The place was clean. The food was average. The service was good.

Enjoy burgers and booze in a fun relaxed atsmosphere. Play pool or sit outside under the misters. This place rocks. Hot waitresses, casual setting.

Best burgers and drinks in town. Happy hour has been extended Mon - Fri. from 11am - 7pm which now includes all beers import or domestics for $2.00. They also have $3.00 frozen margarita's all the time. They have a great patio with beautiful palm trees surronding it. And there's no better place to go to watch sports. They have a huge big screen and a killer sound system. The staff is cheerful and the service is excellent. It's the perfect place to go for a quick burger on your luch break or to relax and have a few drinks after work. I highly recommend it

A great place for happy Hour $2 beer $3 liquor We had a great experience the staff were frendley the burgers great. the patio is wonderful with palm trees and flowers a wonderful way to spend lunch or dinner
