Great Spa and Wonderful Getaway!
by snarredondo1
I am a massage therapist, and have been to many spas looking for the level of service and relaxation that I want to provide to my own clients. I have finally found it!! Pure provides an awesome waterhouse, great for relaxing and letting all the worries of life fade away quickly. I had a facial with Paula and she was absolutely amazing. I have never had a better facial at any other Spa that I've been to. I had a wonderful massage and body scrub...there's even a shower within the room...Who could ask for more? After done with my services, I was escorted to the unique waterhouse, and enjoyed a dip in their huge, 10-person sauna. They even have a steamroom to help sweat away extra toxins released during the massage. I was given an option of hot tea, lemonade, or a glass of wine. I felt like a queen, and the service was definitely better than I have seen in a really long time. I would definitely go back. I did read the review below, and I MUST comment on it! I am a licensed massage therapist. This person claims that they are an attorney, and it is NOT against the law to massage someone that is 11 wks pregnant. If she were a little more familiar with massage ethics, codes, and requirements, she would know that it is against every rulebook to massage a female within their first trimester. During this time, the fetus' development is crucial. A massage releases toxins into the bloodstream. The toxins are lethal to the health of the fetus and that is why massage is definitely not allowed within these vital weeks. As for the receptionist informing the client that they could do the massage, this might have been a mistake; however, only a licensed massage therapist who has been through proper educating would know this. Excuse the therapist for having concern for her unborn child. Sorry, but I did love this spa, and I think the previous client's ignorance is no reason to bash a great place. It just shows how much they care about their clients!
- Pros: Ambience, Service, Relaxation, Unique
- Cons: None!
A JOKE OF A SPA
by jas8772
Don't bother. I had a gift certificate from my folks to use so I scheduled a massage for myself, and also massages for each of my parents when they came to visit. I was VERY clear with the girl who scheduled the massages that I would be 11 weeks pregnant. I specifically asked if I would need a pre-natal massage and was told that they did not offer those until later in pregnancies. When I called closer to the appointment to confirm I again informed the person at the front desk that I was pregnant and was told, again, that it would not be a problem. When we got to the spa on the day of the appointments, we signed in and went to wait for our appointments. At that time, one of the therapists came out and informed me that "under the law" they could not touch me during the 1st trimester and there was no one there who could give me a prenatal massage that day. 1st of all, this was a lie. I am an attorney and there is no such law. It may be a business rule, but it is not law. 2nd, this place was given TWO opportunities to tell me that there would be a problem with my being pregnant - and I even specifically ASKED about it, not once but twice. My parents and I all left and they thought they were being nice by not charging us for the canceled appointments! The customer service sucked, they lied to us and the nitwits at the front desk clearly have no idea what goes on behind the desk (and have no qualms about fabricating rules if they don't know what they are). Save yourself the potential hassle with the idiot staff and go to a real spa like Za Spa or The Crescent. This place is a joke.

Unfortunately, we had a new receptionist who was still in training who handled this client's appointments and made the mistake of booking a first trimester prenatal massage. When we discovered the mistake we made every attempt to make this client happy by offering her a different service such as a facial or nail service but she wanted a massage even after the massage therapist explained that it is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. I'm terribly sorry that the client was disappointed but it is our foremost priority to ensure the safety of our clients. The first trimester of pregnancy is delicate and although a massage is not likely to cause any problems it is still most responsible to avoid until the pregnancy has progressed out of this initial critical stage avoiding unnecessary risk. Again, we are sorry that this client was disappointed in her visit. I believe using language like "idiot" and "nitwit" is out of line -- this person was in training.
Better then most Beverly Hill Spas!
by bhj
I just moved from Los Angeles about a year ago and have been looking for a professional and relaxing spa like the one I used to go to in Beverly Hills. Pure Spa is just that and more. Kristen, the esthetician is not only beautiful, she is such a professional she makes you feel comfortable in every type of treatment! She definitely is well educated on all of the procedures unlike some spas. The environment is extremely tranquil and relaxing. The yhave monthly specials for every type of person to enjoy! And if you are a member of Trophy gym you get an extra 10% treatments! FYI don't let the construction going on get in the way....it is definitely a hidden gem!
Such a blissful ambience

I love this spa! If you are tired, stressed or just feel like getting spoiled, you should seriously consider going there. The staff is great - I usually take a combination package that always includes one of their massage treatments, hot stones being my favorite.
Great pedicure!!!
by mt214
I went in for my second pedicure in my lifetime and it was great! I even told the pedicurist that this pedicure was different from my first one I had because it didn't hurt! She was very gentle. I had the Spring special pedicure and it was fabolous. Well worth the price for the service that I was given. My nails looks great and the foot massage was just heaven. If you go to Pure Spa for a pedicure make sure to do the special or the spa pedicure. Its longer than their regular pedicure if you want your feet to be pampered a little bit more. You'll absolutely love the setting of the spa. Very clean and the pedicure takes place in a private area. Excellent for me to just relax and enjoy my service. I went on a weekday so they are not as busy as the start of the weekend would be as I was told. I will definetly be back!
- Pros: The service

Average Mani/Pedi
by csh1
I went in for a mani/pedi and it was ok, average at best and I'm glad I had the citysearch coupon offer because I would have been upset if I had to pay full price for that average service I could have recieved anywhere.

This customer booked the basic mani/pedi which are our express nail services designed for the customer on-the-go that needs to get in and out quickly. If you want more pampering, definitely book the spa mani and pedi. Or, the basic mani and spa pedi is a good choice if you're in a bit of a hurry but don't necessarily want the total basic (express) service.
Fabulous Deep Tissue
by ncunder
I adore deep tissue massages, and there is nothing worse than a therapist who does it so softly that
it's not deep or so intensely that you're sore for days afterwards ... luckily, Pure Spa gets it just right! My deep tissue massage there was perfect, the service was friendly and professional, and the hot tub
in the waterhouse was the perfect destination at the end of the service. But, be forewarned, you must bring a bathing suit because the water house is co-ed!
Best Aesthetician in the city
by dsm01
Recently, I visited Pure for a facial and a better understanding of Botox, etc. The aesthetician (Kristin) was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and explained many different procedures in detail. I am so excited to get Botox for the first time. It is Fabulous. She lifted my brows, turned the corners of my mouth up and I am very pleased! Thanks Pure!! She definitely knows her business!
- Pros: Knowleable Staff
- Cons: None - that i observed

Great for group outings!
by petma7
We planned an outing for a group of girls at work, and it was perfect! Pure has an amazing Water House with a Jacuzzi, shower, sauna, and plenty of room to relax and visit, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. I will definitely be using this place for my bachelorette party and as my Mother?s Day gift this year! I received a massage and foot bath, and the service and quality were excellent!
- Pros: ambience, friendliness, services offered
