Best Brazilian Wax!

by Tiffnco

My love affair with Bliss began long before I ever stepped foot in one of their spas. I heard about the company and was fascinated with their modern design, down-to-earth attitude, and quirky humor. Obviously, when I found out they were building a Bliss in Dallas, I freaked. I actually dragged a group of friends with me the night the W opened just so I could get a sneak peek of the spa. I've been going there to get treatments ever since. My regular treatments include the Hot Cream Manicure, "Dew" Diligence Facial, and the Brazilian plus Full Leg Wax. My favorite is definitely the wax, which may seem a bit weird but hear me out. The wax they use is effective but it really is, as they say, as painless as possible. Also, the estheticians are very professional - they walk out the room to give you time to de-robe and, without going through all the details, they only make you reveal the bare minimum needed to wax each area as they go. By the time you leave, you'll be smoother than the day you were born, without any irritation. I'd definitely recommend it for beginners or wax alums. Check it out!

  • Pros: Great atmosphere, amazing showers (you have to try these!), sauna, lockers, skilled estheticians, brownie buffet (....need I say more??)
  • Cons: Location (driving through Downtown Dallas isn't exactly relaxing), Price

Hot off the Stresses, best massage

by sharemore

I arrived at Bliss and felt as if I had stepped into the clouds. The waiting area was small, but intimate the only complaint here was the bright sun coming through the windows. my therapist was friendly, but not overly conversational, enhancing my relaxation. The massage was thorough and very relaxing. Following the massage, my energy level was enhanced. The eucolyptus shower was amazing and very good for allergy season. I will absolutely putt Bliss at the top of my list.

  • Pros: Awesome service and ammenities
  • Cons: Parking--20.00 Valet

Exceptional Service, Layout Could Be Better

by dallas99

I was aprehensive to go due to prices for services. My first appointment was for a facial on a Sunday morning. I was a bit disappointed in the thin robe and plastic flip flops given at check-in. An esthetician escorted me to my locker and explained how to lock and unlock it since it's digital and no key is needed. I checked out the showers which there are only two of. I had heard about the eucalyptus aroma steam feature, but it may not have been working that day. Lots of fun shampoos, soaps, face washes, lotions, etc. are available in shower and at the sinks. The lounge is small, I cannot imagine having more than 3 or 4 people in there. Fresh lemon ice water, brownies, cheese, crackers, and olives were available. The locker area is also small with no changing rooms available...would be very cramped if more than 2 or 3 people changing at once.

The best part, and most important, was the esthetician for my facial. Stephanie was down to earth and very open and honest about her observations and suggestions. I would definitely book another appointment with Stephanie for a facial. She also does waxing. I welcomed the thorough hand, arm and foot massage as well. She never left the room and always was doing something.

The staff was pleasant and courteous...things are always tended to, but there are no interruptions and I never felt like I was in the way or they were in mine.

Be aware of the $20.00 valet parking. There is no self-parking available and no discounts given for Bliss guests. Perhaps consider meter parking on the street depending on the time of day.

  • Pros: Estheticians, amenities
  • Cons: Parking, robes, sandals, small locker room

Not Impressed At All...

by squerrl

I was given a gift certificate from my fiance for my birthday and received a massage, facial, and parffin foot treatment. The massage therapist has very calloused hands and felt very "knotty" on my body and was very painful. I also like more of a Swedish type massage; he continued to use pressure that was too heavy even after I expressed pain! Plus, the knot/callous on his thumb was very, very painful. It was absolute torture, and for the money my fiance paid, it should have been Heaven on Earth! I've definitely had better massages in Dallas for less money. The facial was next, and my skin still has not recovered. My facialist, bless her heart, was very sweet, but also pressured me to buy all these skin products at the end of the facial when Bliss products break me out and I didn't want them. After this facial I have continued to break out for months - not a week like most tell you. My face felt greasy, oily, and their products contain oil in them - not good for my oily/combination skin!!! The only good part of this whole day was the paraffin foot treatment, that was nice. Parking is horrendous and you have to valet - although going to the Bliss is a nice excuse to see the inside of the W Hotel; it's very nice! Overall, don't waste your time (and money) on the Bliss. You can find better service, treatment, products, etc. elsewhere for less money.

  • Pros: Nice View from the pool area, Eucalyptus steam room is nice
  • Cons: Too expensive for service, massage was terrible, facial awful, parking horrendous

Best Facial and Massage ever!

by hane01

OH my gosh this spa is so awesome! After getting facials for a couple of years I have to say this is the best place to get a facial in Dallas. I recieved the fully loaded facial, a little pricey, but definitely worth it. It was an hour and 45 min treatment and I really enjoyed my technician Sadie. She was amazing. Very thorough and my skin was glowing when I left. after I recieved my facial I went on to have a ginger rub (which is a body scrub w/ a full body massage) and forgive me I forgot the massage therapists name but he was great. I was so relaxed. The spa is so nice and trendy, i loved the music, the steam shower was nice w/ a touch of euclyptus! I highly recommend Bliss Dallas it was truly an experience. I'm so glad they are in dallas now and I really think people will catch on to this place. By the way they do the best brazilian ladies! Quick and painless.:)

  • Pros: Tasty browines while you wait for your service!
  • Cons: Parking!

U can get a better massage somewhere else!!

by yuvi01

This spa is not good at all especially when they make such a big deal that it's in Dallas now.

I had a facial and a massage. The facial, first of all it seems like their workers are taught to pinch and mess up your face. I had maybe 3pimples and 2 out of three weren't ready to pop, still underneath skin and this technician was just squeezing and made my face all bloody. I even told her it hurt and she stopped but came back after a few minutes. Now this woman has scarred my face. The massage, I've had better at other independent locations. For the money I expected more. I told her my shoulders needed more work and she decided to do a more basic massage. The paraffin on the feet was nice but for the price not worth it. I would rather go spend my money somewhere less talked abt for a better service. I wouldn't waste my time it's all hype.

  • Pros: Other bars are around
  • Cons: Parking and the cost for bad service at the spa

New York-based international spa and skin care line pampers guests and locals on the 16th floor of the W Hotel.

In Short
Bliss thrives on humorous treatment names and attentive service. Attendants help reduce cellulite with a "quadruple thighpass" and relieve aching muscles with a "hot off the stresses" massage. A lounge area and locker room offer extra perks such as the legendary brownie buffet and a eucalyptus-scented steam shower. Chocaholics indulge in the "double choc pedicure": a hot chocolate exfoliating foot soak with a cup of creamy cocoa served on the side.
