The places looks great! Definately chic and modern. Drinks were good and it was definately a fun experience. Downside though....way too pretentious. I can loosen up and have a lot more fun at other downtown bars/lounges. Fuse for example.
Pros: Setup.
Cons: Crowd

We stayed at th W hotel last weekend for our 5th anniv. Friday after dinner we decided to pop into Ghost Bar early just to check it out and have a drink. I mean at 9:30pm there was no line (especially for guests) so what the heck. Was an interesting crowd to watch from the start but when we decided to grab a table for a little bit and time passed - so much fun. From the big hair blondes wanna be, cheesey dudes with popped collars, old guys with young ladies....and some people completely out of place. So much fun to watch it all from a table. Expect expensive drinks and to pay to sit. But also expect excellent service from the wait staff and management. They treated us right. One drink turned into a bottle of champagne, then too...we stumbled back to the room almost at 1am. Beautiful view, and very nice bar. If you can get past the red carpet scene in the parking area and lobby!
Pros: service, gin & tonics, nice spot
Cons: not a good margarita

So, after hearing all of the "hoop-la" for the past year, I thought I'de check out the fabled "ghostbar". arrived around 10:45 on a Friday night, which most likely wasn't the best idea. We waited for about 20 minutes, which starts to bother you when you notice the "who's who" going strait through the line. Then again, it's my first time, so I can't get upset, right? Once inside the fun began! The room, located 33 stories up, is a lot larger than expected. Drinks, poored with a jigger, are just right and not too steep in price. The crowd was beautiful, with a great mix of people. Not all rich, snotty as expected! We danced on the dance floor located in front of the DJ booth for about three hours until we noticed the lights coming on (because thats how great the music was). So, to all of you who set set your standards WAY TOO high, and expect to be treated like royalty... I suggest you return with the goal of dancing and having a great time, and I'm sure you'll be as satisfied as we were!

My first time at Ghost Bar was in October 2007 with a birthday party. The club is classy compared to some of the other night life in Dallas. I had a great time, met a really hot guy who walked up to me and my friends and invited us to join his table. He asked for my number but never called. I think i was a little buzzed at the time.He showed me the outdoor patio, club, and his suite/hotel. The view overlooking the American Airlines was wonderful. We hung out together and before long the club was closing and I had to find my crew, so worried about the ordeal, I forgot about Mark, he was trying to help me find them and once we were all together he had already disappeared. I would love to see him again!

Two girls out on the town to have fun and we stop at the Ghost Bar. The waitress asked me for my drivers license and credit card to purchase a few martinis. I frowned at giving her both - management policy. After about 45 minutes I realized that I had not recieved either form of id back. I did not see the waitress and thus asked the bartender for my identification back. He could not find it. I asked to see the manager. I would have to wait. So after about two hours, no manager and no one to help me, I went downstairs to speak to the hotel management and they called upstairs. The management explained to me that I had to return tomorrow because the bar manager had gone home for the evening. I was floored. The next day I called and got nowhere. So I traveled down and tried to get upstairs and was stopped by some undercover, black suit. I would have to go outside and wait in line. Again.....a joke. I explained I didn't want entry into the bar, just my id back... oh no. So I went outside, explained the situation again to an undercover black suit. After an hour waiting some other black suit brought down my id and almost didn't give it to me because I didn't have any id to show him...... What a joke!
Cons: thumbs down

I went to Ghost Bar for the first time on Saturday, having heard many good things about it I decided it would be a good place to take my cousin for her bacholorette party. We get there around ten and there wasnt much of a wait at the door, we had our names on the list so we bypassed all this. However once inside we waited for about 15min watching other people come in make another line and go ahead of us. Never asked why didnt want an excuse. Once inside the place the ladies and I made our way to the bar where we were ignored by all the female bartenders who were of course catering more to the men. We waited there for another 7-8 minutes (standing at the bar, not in line) before the bartender finally asked what she could get us. Now I am not high maintnence by any means of the imagination but I do enjoy a glass of wine, and for such an "up scale" place you would think that wouldnt be a problem. Two kinds, thats it Chardony and Merlot thats all you get. So I go for a vodka and red bull....10 bucks. A coors light for my friend 6bucks. So far I am not impressed. So we go around the bar to see what it has to offer....nothing thats what. Most of the people there have their noses too far in the air to see that they just bumped into you and spilled half of your ten dollar drink. Well let see if there are any cute men here....Nope, none want to know why, because it costs them 40dollars to get in the door. I understand that men will go where the women are, but I dont think in Dallas they are that desperate for women or other places to find them. Oh and at this point I should let you know, there is no where to sit, unless you have shelled out 1000.00 for a table. So here we are 11 girls out for a night of fun standing in our high hills with our 10 dollar drinks with nothing to do. Needless to say I was less than impressed and next time will go for the cliche bacholrette party at LeBare.
Pros: The waitresses were attractive with cute outfits as were the bartenders
Cons: everything else

Went to Ghostbar for the first time last night (a Saturday night). Can't decide how else to write the review, so I'll go chronologically. I was lead to believe by the website that cover was $20 and you don't have to be on a guest list. This was acceptable to me, and I was prepared to wait in line, etc, etc. I showed up at around 10, and there was a small line for people who are on the guest list. How you get on and how much you pay - - don't know, couldn't figure out. They told me there was a different line for people not on the list, and sent me around the corner. Fine. I get there, and there's no line at all, but the bouncer told me it would be $40 to get in. This really wouldn't have annoyed me half as much if they had been honest on their website about this. So that's one star subtracted. I paid anyway, because I wanted to see what all the hype was about, and went up to the actual club. Pretty posh, about what you'd expect. Gives Dallasites an opportunity to feel like they're clubbing at the celebrity venues of, say, LA or NY. Drinks were about $10 each, which I expected, but I was a little put-off having just spent so much to get in. Anyway, fantastic view, all that other stuff. The crowd was very diverse, and overall I met alot of friendly people. Speaking as a single guy, I can definitely tell you that this is a good place to pick up women. That having been said, I feel like part of paying cover is to ensure the quality of women inside, and this was pretty lacking. About half of the women were acceptably attractive, and the other half was made up of old, ugly, trampy, or some combination. There were only a handfull of knockouts. So that's another star down. I think Ghostbar deserves some rep for being a pretty venue with a high-class feel, but overall it was a let down. Let-down factor takes it down another half-star. Could it have lived up to my expectations? I think yes. Better face control + some honesty about price.
Pros: excellent set-up, interior and exterior, attractive bartenders and servers, nice people
Cons: misinformation on website about costs, crowd not very attractive, expensive
