FANTASTIC SPECIALS!

by bablit at Citysearch

I was looking for a spa place to treat my daughter-in-law for her birthday. She couldnt go on Saturday, so I treated myself with a massage, facial and a revitalized hair "do". The hour long massage was pretty darn good! Stacie was very professional, and she sure did relax those tensed up muscles. Hands of magic!

The facial was fantastic beyond words! Dusti gave me a mini manual dermabrasion with crystals , a deep cleansing, and a bit of collagen around the eyes. Boy! Was it ever relaxing! Final results? I can really see a difference in my face! Lots of my wrinkles smoothed out!

My hair stylist Ronnie was just super!...she put stuff on my hair that gave it real body, styled it to hide the outgrowth (til I can get retouched), and made me feel like a "new me" when I left.

This place has unbeatable specials ( I got all this for the advertised special of $125) . It was approaching closing time and they did NOT start rushing so they could get home. The friendly owners take care of the front salon desk and make sure you feel special so you will come back...and you know what? I WILL !

  • Pros: VERY CLEAN, very peaceful, very friendly, great prices, easy find

salon first, spa not so much

by lindsay713 at Citysearch

My boyfriend and I were visiting Dallas for a few days, had enjoyed a wonderful couples day at a spa in Austin and wanted to try it again while there. He found the place...phone book, internet, I don't know...and made the appointments. Walking in the door it's clear this place is a salon first and foremost--a large open space with hair stations all around the perimeter with a couple of treatment rooms in the back. We got checked in and were taken to seperate rooms for our massages...no couples massage room. I was less than impressed with the massage and that the massage "therapist" (male, and I thankfully don't remember his name) started me face up and continually had to adjust the small towel drape over my breasts. I'm not a small chested woman, which he actually pointed out with comments like "[BF] is a lucky guy". At the time I didn't think he was grossly crossing any lines, but in hindsight, if I was uncomfortable at all, there was something to it. BF said hot stones were used in his massage, placed on the table while he sat up for him to lay back on. As he reclined onto the stones they were so hot he sat bolt upright and said they were too hot....France, herself, said they were the "perfect temperature for the body". They cooled slightly, he was able to lay back. One positive thing was as we were leaving we both went on and on about how great each other's skin looked, so the facials were worthwhile. But not impressed overall.

  • Pros: great result from the facials
  • Cons: they probably shouldn't use "spa" in their name, but I guess "salon" should've given us a clue.
