What a wonderful place! We went here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary to bring back our memories of our honeymoon in France...it was amazing. Louis(owner) was our host. He was so friendly. He tasted wine with us, shared stories as well as explained the different cheeses, jams, fruits, the pairings... It was a wonderful evening. The only thing that would have made this better is if it was in an actual wine cave.

I went last fall with a party of 10 or so for a "girl's night out." We were given different appetizers (homemade meatballs, alfredo pizza etc...) with each tasting of a new wine. The pairings were perfect and the service was wonderful. Although we chose not to make our own wine, we bought several bottles from the tasting and will definitly go back. We were happy with our experience!
Pros: The expertise and pairing of wine and homemade appetizers
Cons: none

Ambiance is really the only thing this establishment has going for it. The wine is sub-par and overpriced and the "wine making" experience really just involves stirring the mixture in a white plastic bucket after you empty the grapes from a plastic bag. More importantly though, the management of Swirll is rude in such an extreme way it became almost unbelievable. I would highly recommend avoiding this place, as there are far better wine bars in the area that understand how not to insult their customers. When spending $500-$1000 you would expect the customer service to be more comparable to fine dining than a gas station.
Pros: None
Cons: Management is crazy...

This was the worst dining/wine experience I have ever had. The people who run this place are incredibly rude and disorganized. Moreover, the quality of wine does not comport with the overpricing. I would recommend you avoid this place at all costs. For a good wine experience, chooose Times Ten Cellar or Tony's.

We went with a group of people for a friends birthday. We enjoyed being there and making wine. The evening was going well till we gave out several credit cards for paying the bill. The owners wife started repeatedly chiding us on not knowing the house policy of one credit card per group. Unfortunately, our group was never informed of this policy and had we been asked nicely we would have obliged. After being treated like that we obviously did not want to return in order to pick up the wine we made. The owner made a huge fuss over that and we finally paid the balance of the bill without the wine we made on a single card. The owner then very rudely asked the entire group to leave the resturant and slammed the door on us. It ruined a perfectly good evening and it was really embarassing for my friend celebrating her birthday. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Swirll is the best thing to happen to downtown dallas. The concept of being able to make and bottle your wine in a setting like Swill makes for a fun and educational time. The quality of the product is unmatched. With the addition of wine by the glass service, it makes for a great place to hang out after work or on the weeekend, to unwind. The staff is SO friendly and goes out of their way to treat everyone as if you are their very best customer.
Pros: Exceptional wine, ability to purchase wine by the glass, friendly and gracious staff

WOW! What a unique concept! If you enjoy wine then you must stop by Swirll. The owner's passion for the world of wine is apparent the moment you walk through the doors as you're transported to a cozy, quaint "old world" setting. One sip of their wine and you'll be asking how to make your own. It's also an educational experience as the staff is eager to share their knowledge about the different wines and the regions the grapes are grown.
Pros: great wine, great service, great people!
Cons: notta one!

Good friends and great wine! What else is life about! Louis and Peggy Davion of Swirll have created a winery that is always interesting, inviting, and inspiring. Their love for what they do is obvious and shines through in their experience and professionalism. Besides all that...it's fun! Get downtown now!
Pros: So many wines to taste...
Cons: ...so little time!

You can taste wine, buy wine- but much more! You can make your own wine at Swirll. No kidding. The hardest part is deciding which one you like best from about 40 different wines- reds, whites, blush and dessert. The grapes come from all over the world and make incredible tasting wine. You also get to choose a label and personalize it with your name, name of the wine, year- whatever you want to say on it. You make about 30 bottles at a time so its a natural for holiday gift-giving or just stocking your own closet. You can make a party out of it with friends. Then when you bottle it, exchange the different kinds of wines you made so you end up with a variety. We've done it for birthdays and several times just to make more for ourselves. We always have fun.
Pros: Great tasting wine, fun experience.
Cons: Downtown- but there's a parking garage in the same block.

Like their wine, Swirll is served up with style. Each visit brings you closer to a world that few are aware they can experience right in the heart of Dallas. The more you learn about Swirll the more you are drawn in. I came to Swirll when they first opened in 2004, one thing that has not changed is the same warm greeting at the door today as it was on day one. The wine selection has expanded ( you can buy wine too, you don't HAVE to wait for your batch to ferment :) ) and by popular demand Swirll has expanded its seating area for tasting and the staff to accommodate your bottling needs. Who knew you could make your own personalized labeled wine for as little as $6.00- $12.00 a bottle? MANY choices for the batch you create right there! Imagine opening YOUR wine at a party, for a gift, as a corporate celebration with the company name on it, AT YOUR WEDDING with you and your new life partners name on it!!!!! Wow! What a GREAT wedding gift!! Forget the $200.00 place setting !! Give the gift that will keep on giving! Can you imagine the bride and grooms faces when you offer to supply 26-30 bottles of wine for their reception? Oh, AND they can help you MAKE it perhaps as a bachelor or bridal gathering? Celebrate life at Swirll..an experience that is a journey from crush to fermentation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!Unique and like no other !!!!Want to impress your friends? Then go to swirll and gather round for the reality of the finer things in life!
Pros: Southern hospitality, Elegance and Style.
Cons: You need to call for reservations, they book up fast. VERY popular! Is that a bad thing?
