Good Food, Good Beer!
by Gastronomy
Contrary to another reviewer i will not be paying my "several thousand" MySpace and Facebook contacts $10 each to not go. That would be a) expensive and b) silly because the food here is awesome and the waitstaff are super friendly.
I've been to Libertine several times and never had a problem. It's very busy but the wait is a short one. Brunch is awesome and so are the dinners. Tuna Nicoise salad and Pita Pizzas sound pedestrian but are flavorful, light and DELICIOUS! I haven't been to a Beer Dinner yet but plan to do so with one of my several thousand MySpace friends to whom I've recommended this crazy bar/restaurant/neighborhood hangout.
- Pros: Best Sunday Brunch and 1/2 price Sundays!
- Cons: A bit crowded on Sunday 1/2 price night so go after 8pm!
Do Not try to eat there on Sunday for half price
by JoeRogerss
We have tried to eat at the Libertine on Lower Greenville on Sunday for 1/2 price several times. When they start and follow a wait list you will get served food for 1/2 price. When they tell you that they are not keeping a list it is their way of telling you "We have a bunch of our friends coming tonight and we the wait staff will make sure that they get their food for 1/2 price and you the customers that we do not really know or care about will not get seated and get your food for 1/2 price tonight". In other words do not waste your time with these people at the Libertine. If their waitstaff friends come first and customers last then what is the sense? Do the math, waitstaff friends will never pay full price for any beer and food while customers pay full price for beer and food except for Sundays for 1/2 price on food. Who brings in the revenue, waitstaff friends or customers? I can personally recommend the Libetine to several thousand, yes several thousand of my e-mail, facebook and myspace contacts but I will make sure that they all get contacted to not go there at all costs. I will personally pay them $10 to not go there as long as they in turn tell all of their other contacts to do the same. Hopefully the Libertine turns into a bar with waitstaff and friends only. If that is they way they want it to be then let them have it that way. Oh, by the way there are other places with 1/2 price food on sundays and during the week, the Quick weekend edition will list those places.
Also starting 4/10/09 when smoking is no longer allowed in the Libertine I will be sending people in there every night with hidden cameras to monitor whether or not they are following the new laws. With all said and done we will wait to find out if waitstaff arrogance wins out over honest customers being turned away on Sundays. The battle is on!
- Pros: None
- Cons: Waitstaff arrogance, take care of their friends and not the customers
Check this place out!

What a great bar! The first time I ate there I had the steak sandwhich with Mac n' Cheese and I a was hooked! The atmosphere is great and the beer selection is excellent. There are almost always new worldwide beers on tap. I went to a 5 course 'beer dinner" (each course was paired with a beer from around the world!) and it was some of the best food I have eaten since coming to Dallas.
Check this place out!!!
- Pros: FOOD, drink selection, cool staff
- Cons: Small bathrooms, but they are both "two seaters"

In Short
The bar runs the length of a long, narrow room. Opposite, a row of wooden booths overlooks the street's club scene. Like sister venue Meridian Room, the kitchen serves a variety of soups, salads and grilled meats. Appetizers include the Mediterranean Plate: roasted garlic, feta cheese, hummus, olives and grapes served with baguette and pita bread. For those who prefer heartier fare, the menu offers entrees such as the steak and fries.
