Martini Park= Best service and best drinks

by ilovetheshops

We arrived to be greeted by two very good looking doormen. We walked into see that the bar was packed with so many people that were all different ages. We were lucky to find a table and were greeted by such a nice cocktail server. She gave us some suggestions about her favorite martinis. She was so right. Their drinks are AMAZING! The band playing that night I believe were named Passing Strangers. They were very entertaining. I would suggest this place to anyone in the area or even just visiting.

  • Pros: EVERYTHING!
  • Cons: absolutely nothing!

Cougar bar with zero class, expensive drinks, poor service, small portions and big prices.

by theghostofyou

When you walk into the place, you are somewhat impressed. Oh hey, they have three bars. Oh hey, they have live music. Unless you were to spend a little time inside the place. The music is the same every night, and rotated out by about 4 cover bands which mostly s*ck. The drinks are at least 10 dollars a pop, and well drinks are $8.50. On a friday or saturday night, expect to wait 20 or more minutes at the bar for a drink. It looks like a stock market at the bars. People waving money around trying to get service, while the staff takes their time and doesn't acknowledge anyone standing there. Unless you get a martini straight up, expect to ask the question... IS there any alcohol in this beverage? Eating there isn't worth it, although the food is good, the portions are askew. $16 for three little mini "slider" burgers with no cheese and no side items. The managers and staff talk badly about guests behind their backs, i.e. "that black guy over there is so cheap, ew what a stupid n*gger", or "look at those re*necks dancing, gross". Unprofessional and classless, borderline r*cist. The manager was a tall bald man, who is extremely flamboyant and was talking about how the waitresses were his "little girls", in a creepy and not appetizing almost perverted way. There were bar flys buzzing all around the fruit at EVERY Bar, finding a decent lime was a journey. I witnessed a blonde haired girl picking a bar fly out of a martini with a straw on 2 occasions.

nasty.

I wouldn't recommend this place.

It's more drama/money then it's worth.

  • Pros: Food tasted good, although extremely expensive for portion.
  • Cons: everyyyything else. Old women dancing on you, unattractive and nasty!

Worst service

by kiersten123

I booked a VIP party at Martini Park, and it was a horrible experience. Our waitress didn't know the menu and didn't know the services that were supposed to be provided by having a VIP party such as the appetizers. Therefore, a manager had to come and explain the choices of the menu and thought "we" were confused. She constantly got our drink orders wrong. She gave me a Jack and Coke, when I ordered a Johnny Walker black with a splash of coke and told me that it was the "same thing", yet she charged me for the JW black. Martinis were brought and they were wrong. Most of our party went to the bar, and had to wait in line for drinks because our waitress never came to our VIP room. And, she gave attitude when we would order drinks. There was only one bill for our party of 12 and she padded our tab!

Awful experience. I would not recommend this place at all. If, you are going to have a party its worth driving to Dallas to the W Hotel and having bottle service.

  • Pros: Drinks are good, but pricey.
  • Cons: Customer service, people are older, music is older, expensive for below average service

Not a good place for private parties

by Jules68

Whatever you do, DO NOT pay for a private party at this place. The reserved area on the dance floor by the band that we thought we were going to get was NOT what we got when we arrived. We were stuck up on the second level in a very tight spot, right where the waitresses had to come and go to get beverages. We were given some lame excuse that equated to "you got bumped". We paid $50 per table (taxes and gratuity were extra), which seated 2, maybe 3, were promised 4 appetizers per table, but actually received an average of maybe one per table. The person I worked with to coordinate everything, Natalie, was very nice and apologetic when I let her know how everything turned out, and she assured me some sort of compensation, but I never heard from her again, even after a follow-up. VERY disappointing. The band they had that night was awesome, but unfortunately I was so stressed out by how screwed up everything was with the party that I couldn't really get into it.

  • Pros: The entertainment was fantastic
  • Cons: Poor service from management (waitresses were great though), did not get our money's worth

Two times a charm, I went to chicago as well!

by calgal4u2

Ok all you Dallas people. I just want to take a min and say YOU ROCK! I am from California and went to Martini park in Chicago and now plano had a BLAST. The food was fantastic (especially for a late night menu) This place is HUGE with a Great band too! The chocolate martini was something I would have never ordered, but the waitress in chicago suggested and I must say I am hooked and ordered one here in texas too! I will absolutely be back on my next visit. It?s upscale and if you have taste and style you should absolutely go!

  • Pros: Very consistant on a great time!
  • Cons: none

A must try!

by wolfevideo

A neighborhood saloon designed to convey simple elegance. The food and specialty cocktails are feel good fresh, natural and easily understood. It's not just another tavern! This place has live bands and a great eclectic crowd. I liked the martinis, the spacious area, the decor, and the food. It's a good place to experience at least once. My girl friends and I had a great time! Give it a try.

  • Pros: Great late night food
  • Cons: none

Isnt worth your money or time!!!

by dion14

The place itself looks nice.. It is an ok crowd. It just all depends on what you are looking for.. Not a great deal of hot woman but its worth it if you are looking for a hook up... This is the only place I have ever been where the waitresses act worst than the bouncers.. The waitresses are VERY stuck up!! The drinks are WAY to expensive!! Martini Park tries to carry itself as high class with expensive drinks and a nice venue but when you get down to it, its just not worth your money and time!!!

  • Pros: nice venue
  • Cons: stuck up waitresses and drinks way to expensive

Avoid Anytime

by jacey_johnston

I would not even rate this is as a one star class bar....I give it a negative one star because my fiance could not get in because he was wearing white tennis shoes. We live in the Lakeside @ Legacy Shops and we had to come home and change shoes to get into the bar. The drinks were horrible and last call was called early and we were not allowed to finish our drinks. The bartenders literally took a drink out of my friends hand as she was trying to finish it. As they stated that there were no tennis shoes or sandles there were still people with tennis shoes and sandles and we were treated differently. I feel as if this bar was judgemental on how much money the specific person was bringing in and little did they know that they had high class people with lots of money and they did not want to spend it with Martini Park from the way we were treated. I as a customer will never return to this bar or spend a dime of my money there. It was lousy service!!!

  • Pros: nothing
  • Cons: bad customer service

I wouldn't really call it a Martini bar

by jstarsky67

I have been here a couple times to meet some friends for drinks after dinner. Thankfully both times have been during the week when the place is a little slower. On the weekends it just looks like a typical Dallas meatmarket. More of a club really on the weekends than a bar. I'll agree with the reviewer below me when they say that the martini's aren't that great. I don't go for the foo foo stuff myself but like a nice gin martini straight up. By the looks of it they have every vodka known to man but the bartender didn't even know what kind s of gin they had, he had to go searching until he found 2. Then it was more of a slushy than a martini, I could rest my lemon twist ontop of all the ice. The restaurant actually looks really nice though. But I'd probably classify it as a night club rather than a Martini bar. I think of a nice relaxed place with live jazz music when I think martini bar. Though the second time I went they had a 'big band' playing. I enjoyed them.

  • Pros: Nice looking place, good people watching
  • Cons: Martini's are avg or below, loud on weekends, more of a club than bar

Read below, things aren't always as they seem.

by martinilounge5

Ok, I must confess I do frequent this bar (bad clud or whatever); hey, look at my name that should say it all. Besides this place is kind of like a train wreck. Nothing you would think from a "Martini Bar" at all. Pulling up to see a bouncer (equipped with a "people counter clicker) should say it all. They dont have very many martini's to choose from atleast not what I consider a "real martini". If you prefer the foo-foo debutante ones then this would be heaven on earth to you. The club itself has quite a bit of class however, as I stated when pulling up to this bar in "The Shops At Legacy" with the name Martini Park, one would expect much more. If I am going to pay 10-12 dollars for a real martini, then I suspect the bartender really knows how to make it, but when I am not even asked whether it is "vodka" or "gin" something is very wrong. Not only that, the staff is less than friendly; the bouncers may truly believe they are employed for some great LA club (look around you are not). The bartenders frown if you tell them how to make your martini (personally I dont care because I am not working for the tip you just lost). Bottom line, this is not a good martini bar, not really sure it is a good club. Great place to people watch and listen to the mounds of complaints of the patrons inside.

  • Pros: really nothing except for people watching
  • Cons: people watching
