Tuesday, June 10, 2008/Natasha Bedinfield concert. We used the "Pass The Line" option/if you had dinner (food and wait staff were great) at the House of Blues prior to seeing a show you could get early access into the concert hall. At 7pm when the doors opened we got to go in before those standing outsise and we immediately got right up front at the stage/front and center. Neither of us are short guys - I am 6ft. 4in and he is a little shorter - there was a guy probably about 21-22 who stood behind us during the concert calling us "faggots" and "g@ys" and he was beyond drunk. He and his friends tried to get in between us (which they never did) saying they couldn't see and he kept saying that "we were too tall to be that close" - I alerted the security guys in front of the stage that we were being harrassed and they did nothing but stand there which causes concern for not only myself but others who might come to shows and be harrassed. If you can't get somewhere early enough to earn the place that you desire or if you don't take advantage of the options they offer to gain early entry then don't complain about it. Don't harass those who took advantage of the offered opportunity to gain early access. We didn't owe anyone anything, we paid money just like everyone else, stood in lthe "Pass The Line" and got too see our favorite singer up close and personal just as we had desired... but the lack of concern on the part of the security certainly makes me question what would happen should something like that get out of control... I am glad it didn't for us but that being said, then I guess a certain 21-22 year old would have been taken to jail, received an aggrevated assault and a hate crime offense since he had already used the words "Faggots" and "g@ys" as slurs towards us and of course, I would have sued him as well. All in all it was a wonderful night but just be aware of the security there lacking in securing a safe environment for everyone to fully enjoy the moment.
