Attentive Staff but the experience falls short.. My wife and I dined at Via Real last week after reading many positive reviews. We left with mixed feelings. Upon arriving we found the entire parking lot in front of the restaurant was coned off for valet parking. Over half of the lot was empty. Why not let someone park their own car? Instead you must trust your car to the parking attendant or park in the next lot over and walk.

After parking we walked into the restaurant and were promptly seated. The ambiance was very nice and the staff was friendly. After reviewing the menu, we ordered and waited. It seemed like the food took quite some time to arrive, but it could be due to cook time.

This is where things went wrong. Both meals were incorrectly made. The manager tried to explain, but didn't seem to understand the description the menu gave. She offered us free queso (as neither of our meals had the queso that was supposed to be included). I had the Tacos De Res. The beef was very well cooked, but the chile con carne tasted like it was from a can. I think the meal would have been much better without the chili; especially if the cheese was in the tacos as the menu states.

I also ordered a large margarita as it is suppose to be a specialty of the restaurant. I added a shot for $2.50 as the menu states. The drink was a good size and tasted great.

For desert I had a Roll De Canela. It had great taste and texture. I highly recommend it.

Then the bill came... I had been charged for the chile con carne and queso with my meal. This was fine as I ordered it, but I found it odd that the quaso was forgotten on the plate but entered correctly on the bill. Next I noticed that the shot added to the margarita was $4 higher than is should have been. I asked to see a menu to verify I had read the price correctly. The server returned with the shot removed from the bill and explained it was their error. I paid and left a good tip for the service.

Summary: Good food and drinks once they fix their mistakes. Customers need to watch their bills for errors. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I think we will give Via Real another chance, but I'll be watching my order and bill carefully.

My favorite upscale Mexican Cuisine Resturant. I have been going to Via Real for 12 years. We moved to Keller, so it is farther to go but well worth it! Service is second to none and the food is definately worth the drive! I love their seafood dishes and my husband always orders a steak. Their Chambord Margaritas are the house drink and they are great! We have a collection of pics taken for our anniversary each year for our scrapbook!!

I would advise making reservations if you go on the weekends. We will be there this evening for another

wonderful anniversary meal!!!

Wonderful Everytime!. When you do it right you stay in business and this place has delivered the whole enchilada for decades.... doing it right, doing it with style and grace each and every time I visit. I am never disappointed with my experiences or the food. I leave content and with wonderful memories and feeling more than satisfied. The staff are extraordinarily attentive and you feel like you are at a five star resort when you were there. Bravo, keep it up!

nice place but not the greatest. i have dined here several times. there is good ambiance here (kind of a "country club" feel) and there are some very tasty menu items such as the stuffed chicken breast. Their "Tex Mex Favorites" seem to be very bland though & I have learned to stop ordering them altogether.
