best pizza
by 13beans at Citysearch
OK, I felt like I did everyone reading a great service by writing a great review - In it I raved about hte pizza. I went back twice, however, and it was nothing the same as the first time. In fact all three times it tasted pretty different. The first time my parents and I loved it. But subsequently, quite frankly, I decided I will have to be really hungry (and maybe out of gas) to go back. Another turn off besides that it's not exactly cheap for what it is, and the fact that they don't accept credit cards or serve coke is that someone who works there regularly must be a total chain smoker because of the pile of cigarrette butts always sitting on the table closest to the register..to me that's pretty gross. oh well...
- Pros: close
- Cons: no coke, no credit cards, decor
Long time customer
by Lovethatpizza at Citysearch
I have been eating this pizza since I was 16 years old when they were on Walnut St. in Garland (34 years!). It's always been a family owned place. The father smoked waaayyyy too much but since they made the resturants in Richardson non-smoking this shouldn't be an issue anymore. My husband and I pick up pizza from here normally about once a week. Love the thin crust and chopped jalapenos and they don't skimp on the ingredients. My daughter also loves it and that is always the first thing she wants when she comes home from school. In fact she is coming this week and pizza villa is on the menu for the 1st nights dinner. Hope they never go out of business!
- Pros: My favorite pizza
giant pizza
by blumpkinlover69 at Citysearch
For the whole entire day i was on the toilet due to chronic diahrrea. I also suffered from blue testes, and i thought that pizza villa, my friendly neighborhood pizza store, would come to my service to supply me with a blumpkin. I was, however, treated poorly by an employee at pizza villa when i ordered a blumpkin. I feel that i, being the customer, should be treated with respect and the best service. Due to my chronic diahrrea and my blue testes, i felt the strong urge for a blumpkin, and i heard that the workers from pizza villa give the best ones. The man questioned my existance and constantly denied me my blumpkin and challenged me to a duel. I would like to gain an enormous, or "giant size", as pizza villa would call it, hard on and thwap him accross the face with it. But i would also like to be taking a rather large dump while issuing out a man sausage lashing with my raging hard on. In sumation, pizza villa gives the worst service and absolutly no blumpkins. Due to the gayness of the workers, it would be considered false advertisement not to give me a blumpkin, and because they didnt they singled me out due to my religion: i am a mormon and thoroughly believe in the importance of blumpkins. Have a nice day....
Timmothy
- Pros: manly voices
- Cons: little to none blumpkins in stock

Great Pizza!
by adgirl1995 at Citysearch
This is great pizza. My family has been going here for years. You don't stay in business this long by having substandard food. The owners know pratically everyone that walks in the door. The place smells so good and the pizza is cooked in one of those old ovens that has the brick on the bottom. So what if they don't take credit cards. I have heard the workers get a little gruff at times but it is part of the nature of the place. Not everyone is going to like it. However, if you want a good thin crust; this is your place!
- Pros: Great pizza. They don't skimp on the cheese or toppings.
- Cons: Closed on Sunday's and Monday's.
Worst Service Ever
by LiquidVelvet at Citysearch
I had heard good recommendations about this place, granted that was a few years ago. Finally had an opportunity to take the family in and try the place out. What a disappointment. We ordered our pizzas from the kid behind the counter and he was friendly enough and we sat and waited. 45 minutes later, still no pizza. When I inquired at the counter, the owner/manager/whoever began to yell at me. The man is unbalanced, we also noticed him berating employees, teenagers mostly, quite vociferously. Needless to say I got most of my money back and left. As the manager was attempting to bully me, the waiter kid put a pizza on our table. As we were leaving they reserved said pizza by putting in a to go box for a phone order. The proper authorities will be getting a call.
- Pros: None, really
- Cons: Hostile service, dirty plates, ashtray near kitchen.
Best Hole-in-the-Wall Pizza Joint
by FelixSp at Citysearch
I've tried a lot of pizza joints around town from the chains to the fu-fu-fancy pizza joints and I think Pizza Villa (PV) has the best thin crust pizza in town. Bar none.... The spices, the sauce, the crust, and toppings are excellent. Their pizza is uniquely spiced and they chop up their meat toppings (including pepperoni) which results in a uniform taste with each bite. The meat toppings are also less greasy and more crunchy than when you cook them in in the normal way. Think of the difference between crispy bacon versus limp/greasy bacon and you will understand what I mean.
If your going to try their pizza, I'd recommend ordering pizza for pick-up rather than dining in. PV is a little hole-in-the-wall place and its ambience is lacking. In fact its ambience is rather lousy. The chain smoking owner should take his cigs outside. But good tasting pizza is more important to me than ambience. They don't deliver, don't take credit cards, and they charge for drink refills. PV is the best kept secret in the Dallas area pizza world.... Price-wise they are SLIGHTY (10%+) more expensive but I'm willing to pay extra for good pizza.
- Pros: Wonderful thin crust pizza
- Cons: Lousy ambience and chain smoking owner...
My favorite pizza place in Dallas!
by lukepapini at Citysearch
So honestly, this place has the best pizza in Dallas. Their crust is thin and the toppings are wonderful. I will definitely keep going back here when ever I get my pizza cravings.
- Pros: Mom n Pop place, cozy, nice people
- Cons: hmmm...none
Crunchy Thin Crust
by iamhagel at Citysearch
The pizza is very thin and chruncy, and very well priced. I am also from NY and went with several others from the NY/NJ area, and do not agree with the other review. This pizza is not the best but it was good. The sauce had a nice southern kick to it and it was very crispy. The restaurant itself it not very well decorated and the service was alright, the food did take a little longer than expected to prepare. I would recommend it for lunch if you are in the area.
- Pros: Cheap
You've got to be kidding?!!
by karialyssa at Citysearch
I tried this pizza place a while back when I was trying to find NY/NJ style pizza since I'm from NJ and was a bit desperate so I figured I'd try this place since it was recommended. I was very dissapointed. The pizza tasted like cardboard and it was nothing to brag about. I've had frozen pizza that tasted better than this. When I want NY style pizza I go to Pastacios, Vito's or Cafe Roma (they now have a Richardson location) and I'm never dissapointed. For all you guys who posted this place is so great, try one of those and you'll never go back to PV. No offense, but if you've never been up north and have never tried good NY/NJ style pizza, then you don't know what good pizza is.
- Pros: none
- Cons: buy frozen pizza - brickoven thin crust is better!
