Food was fine, atmosphere was ok, service was average. However the 20% gratuity charge that was added to the bill without our being told was not ok.
The BEST SALAD, STEAK, DESSERT
by Reballen
I never thought I would want my lettuce grilled. This place has the most amazing grilled Boston Bib lettuce Salad (served only in the evenings). The grilled tenderloin stuffed with Blue Cheese has got to be the best tasting steak on the planet. We topped our dinners off with a chocolate mousse and didn't want to ever leave. Do yourself a favor - visit.
- Pros: The food, the service, the people -- all great!
- Cons: Parking is a bit of a pain.
Best Burger and beer
by amandabolton80
I've come here before for the great backyard patio and the bar, which are both fantastic. However, I ordered a cheeseburger and fries on a whim and WOW! It was amazing. Absolutely the best burger in Dallas. And the fries were perfect. I can't comment on the rest of the menu yet, but stay tuned! I'm definately gonna try it all.
The State-Thomas district's neighborhood bar and afternoon eatery.

The Scene
Surrounded by monolithic apartment buildings, Thomas Avenue Beverage Co. provides architectural breathing room with its cozy location. This corner pub attracts a casual singles crowd with an open floor plan and seat-yourself approach. All tables have a view of the kitchen, as well as the bar and a big-screen television typically tuned to sports. The shady back patio offers additional seating and an atmosphere more conducive to one-on-one conversation.
The Food
TABC goes above and beyond standard pub grub. Common appetizers are spiced up, like the flavorful black bean and chorizo queso served with seasoned tortilla chips. Sandwiches like the spicy jalapeno-smoked turkey melt are traditional with a twist. Homemade 12-inch pizzas are a popular choice and can be personalized with nearly a dozen toppings. Entrees are sophisticated and impressive, from the Brie-stuffed tenderloin to the signature meat loaf with scallion mashed potatoes.
