A FORMER EMPLOYEE
by izzie420 at Citysearch
As as former employee, i can tell you exactly what goes on at dees. If your dog is hurt or sick DO NOT take Dee or her husbands explanation of what happened! They flat out lie to customers so that they can cover themselves.Alsothe play area walls get cleaned once every 6 months or so. Yall should also know that if you want your dog to be fed twice a day it wont happen even if the front desk tells you they will. They also allow aggressive dogs to continue to come if a. the customer is personal friends with dee b. the customer has lots of money or if the customer has dirt on the owner or the facility. This is not just a disgruntled employee but someone who wants the public to know what happens at dees doggie den.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Lies, unsanitary
Never again

I should have known better, I read all the bad reviews, but stupidly this place was close to my house so I took my puppy there. Well, he got bit. No phone call, just a person telling me he got bit in the morning. I assume this happened because there isn't enough staff to watch all the dogs. I also saw a fight between bigger dogs when I was leaving, so I am inclined to believe that they accept aggressive dogs. Two fights (at least) in the same day. I will not be returning, ever. I would not recommend. The dogs are either inside or out, they don't have access go freely between the indoor and outdoor space.
I am just hoping that he will still be interested in playing nicely with other dogs and become a well socialized puppy and adult dog. I feel terrible about not trusting my instincts and avoiding this place. I feel horrible that my puppy had to go through this and got bitten. He must have been scared. He is a very submissive dog if another is agressive.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Aggressive dogs/lack of people watching the dogs

MY dog LOVES it!
by muttsrule at Citysearch
People need to realize that dogs are going to be dogs! I think that the place is clean and smells relatively good considering dogs are animals and have accidents at times! I don't know one dog whose pooh didn't stink! DO YOU? They always clean it up right away and try to make it more pleasant for the parents! I can say my dog has some bad gas at times and covering up that smell seems like the impossible! So I give them mad props for that! I know I wouldn't be able to do it!
Another thing... dogs play rough! It's almost as if the rougher it is for them the more fun they have! So sometimes they get bumps and bruises just like real kids at school! I've gone to the dog park where more fights occur with there own parents with them! Just let your dog have fun... They are in good hands!
I really think the place is great! I love the staff and better yet my dog loves them! He gets excited when he gets in the car and I tell him we're on the way to the doggie den! When we pull up he can hardly wait! I like to drop off in the afternoon so i can do errands and he pretty much drags me up to the girls up front hardly letting me sign in! I come back after a couple hours and he's exhausted (in a good way)! I LOVE IT! And the days that I do drop off in the mornings and he gets to play the whole day he's worn out the entire next day!!!!!! it's great especially with my hyper dog!
To the former employee! Ya you don't seem anything like a disgruntled employee! HA! Wow! Yep def. seems like you were fired! And from your review probably for a good reason! To put down someone's place of business like that is totally uncalled for and extremely unprofessional on your behalf! Good luck in finding another job!
- Pros: Great staff... Great place!
Best Doggone boarding place in Metroplex
by doggieluvr28 at Citysearch
To everyone who has dogged and dissed Dee's needs to look at thier own self and attitudes. First off I have been a customer of Dees for quite some time. (9 years to be exact) and have been with her when she had her old location, yes, while the old location was small and all, it was a god-send to find her..She is a great business owner that does things right and by the rules. When I first brought my dog she was a tad bit scared but what dog isn't when they go to a new place? but after picking her up that afternoon, I came in to a wagging tail and a smiling pup.. I have since had my 3rd generation of animals coming to Dee's and will never go to another place again. Her new facility is large and accomodates not only my 2 large shepherds but also my small yorkie.. for you see they have groups according to thier size and they go outside to a nice play area out back.. I go out of town for business so they get boarded often there.. the staff up front are very polite and know my name and my babies names the moment I walk in the door and when I watch them on the webcams I get a good laugh at the silliness of how they play. I really enjoy being able to watch my little one while temporarily being in a suite. There is a lot of room for them to play and they get a lot of attention and they do a wonderful job with bathing and grooming them. Thank you Dee for taking such good care of my kids and I will continue my business at your facility. ( :
Satisfied long time customer
P.S. Please don't listen to all the bad stuff this is the best place in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth Metroplex to bring your beloved pets. To the disgruntled employee, what you have said is not true at all because we have never had any problems when we bring our kids.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: None

Great Doggie Daycare and Overnight Accomidations
by DogEMom at Citysearch
My girls (Hilde - a doberman & Jazzy - a rottie mix) have visited a couple of different doggie daycares before I found Dee's Doggie Den. Before "the girls" had their first stay with Dee's I stopped by and was given a tour by the friendly staff. I found the place to be clean and all the dogs were getting along well hanging out in the play areas. I love the suites and the girls love to stay there anytime they are available. However, even when they are unable to stay in a suite the large run is big enough for both of them to stay together. "The girls" love Dee's and can barely contain themselves when we pull up. The staff is wonderful and very attentive to the dogs and their different level of petting needs. I would recommend this daycare to all my friends and family.
- Pros: Great hours for drop off and pick up. Love the webcams!
Has been a great and convenient place for seven years!

We met Dee when we took a 6mo old Rottweiler we rescued from an abusive neighbor because Hillside Vet would not touch him ? dirty, sickly and aggressive. Dee cleaned the sores that the feces had left, shaved him and gave him a bath. Although new as dog owners, we were prepared and did have the records of his shots. This should be the first question they ask ? you are responsible to be prepared with this info. Dee will even give them their Bortadella if needed. We have left Scooby and Lola at day care and overnight in the old & new locations where water is always present and it is air-conditioned! Ms. VA forgot to mention the air-conditioning. The new location offers a unique outdoor play area with soft astro-turf and drainage so it can be hosed down and is always clean. Better than Mockingbird or Bark Park by far. The interior open play area smells bad because dogs poo and urinate in there. But the one critic who gagged at the smell is overreacting, unrealistic and definitely has never been to the Dallas Shelter. The fecal matter is picked up and I have never found fecal matter on our dogs when they are picked up. The dogs are fed, watered and have space to run around, right in the middle of Dallas. Those with the negative comments are not being fair. The person who toured the place before bringing their dog acts as if there was a conspiracy and they suddenly changed the place on them. The chaotic comment is accurate at times, but what do you expect with a rush a people dropping off/ picking up their dogs at the same time.
Scooby and Lola at 110lbs and 80lbs seem happy to be with other dogs, are taken care of and when bathed it is done perfectly. I would like to see another place do this with a 110lb Rottweiler who doesn?t like people. We give Dee?s a perfect score and have for over seven years.
My dog's favorite place!

When I'd first heard of dog daycare, I was amused. Now, I'm addicted. The first time I left my dog at Dee's, he whined as we were leaving the parking lot! He's a high energy border collie mix, and the exercise he gets at Dee's is invaluable.
While my dog tends to be a "momma's boy," the minute he gets inside the front door, he completely ignores me. I love taking my dog to Dee's and he loves being there.
- Pros: Open early, open late. Employees friendly and love my dog.
- Cons: None
Good Experience Until We Got Home
by willj81 at Citysearch
We took our two dogs to Dee's and didn't have any problems at first. We toured the facility, and everything looked clean. The dogs looked content. We had no problem leaving them there. During our vacation, we checked the webcam frequently. The first thing that we should make note of is the number of dogs in one space. Throughout the day, it is EXTREMELY crowded in the play area. It didn't look like a dog park type atmosphere. The second thing that we realized is that on Sunday, because of the hours, the dogs barely have any time out of their kennel. We didn't see them in the common area until noon. This means that the dog's are in their kennels from seven at night until noon. (A long time for a dog who is trained not to urinate inside) When we got back in town, we picked up the dogs and went home without trouble. The next day, I took my youger dog (6months) out for a walk. Now, to understand the problem, you have to understand my dog's personality. He is the happiest pup you could meet. If a burglar came into our house, he would probably wag his tail and lick him. He rarely barks and I had never heard him growl. During our walk, whenever a jogger or bike rider came within ten yards of us, He growled and barked. This happened for the entire hour long walk at least 20 times. I have since trained the behavior away, mostly... Now as to what happened to create this behavior in my dog, I do not know. I can say that when dogs walked by, he was not freaking out or growling at them. It was only people. I really hope that it is just a reaction to the stress of us leaving or something like that, but I am really not convinced that even makes sense. It would really upset me to learn that someone could do something to an undeserving puppy. We do not plan on leaving our dog's at Dee's again or ever recommending it to anyone else.
