Not so great
by sjp24
I have freinds that enjoy going here for brunch. My husband and I have been with them several times and don't find it a great experience. As others have said the service is very slow and often you have to ask more than once for the same item. The food.... I do it better at home, and I'm average. If you get there close to 2PM, you're likely to be told they have quit serving brunch even if you are seated and ordering before 2PM. Last time this was the case so we ordered lunch. I had french onion soup. The worst most bland french onion soup ever. Next time they want to go to Ozona I think we'll pass and find an enjoyable brunch. Too bad they truly do have a lot of potential.
- Pros: patio
- Cons: food, service, and parking
Nice atmosphere, good first experience
by fuzzbuns
Saturday was my first visit to Ozona. First impression - WOW, what a great patio area. We chose to sit inside however due to the humidity. Nice atmosphere there also. We arrived around 1015a so the place was not too crowded. My friend chose the Bloody Mary bar and I ordered a Mimosa. Both drinks were good and inexpensive. Opting for brunch, I had the Eggs Benedict, and my friend had the Egg Casserole. We both rated our food as very good. Our waiter provided prompt service; only slight burp was that he brought the check before we were through eating, not asking if we'd like anything else. We both agreed we'd like to come back and try some other menu items. The variety in the menu does cause some caution - how can any restaurant do both Mexican Food and Catfish well? We'll see !!!
- Pros: Atmosphere, great patio area, pretty good food on 1st visit
- Cons: Variety in menu causes concern as to how can they do so many different things good?
Not an impressive brunch

Note: This is only a review for breakfast/lunch. Stay home. There is nothing here that you cannot make at home. Save your money, and sit on the porch if you'd like to be outside. Atmosphere looks nice, probably nice at night if not too loud.
Overall Terrible experience-Avoid Ozona-Garbage Dump

Easily the worst experience myself and my girlfriend have ever had at a restaurant. We were "greeted" at the door by a person wearing saggy blue jeans and a plain white baggy shirt. After sitting, a dirty looking man(our waiter, we thought), popped out of nowhere, failed to say anything to greet us, and simply said "What do ya'll want to drink?" My girlfriend ordered a Skyy Vodka and 7. After waiting for too long only for drinks, the Skyy and 7 that my gf ordered was served in a huge glass, and she couldn't taste vodka, obviously not what she ordered. Then, a disgusting looking woman(our waitress) shows up smelling from a wineglass that she had picked up from another table...weird. My first impression was that she was on something, not all "there". We discuss the drink further, she finally said she would replace it with another one. She then shows up with the drink(now wearing sun glasses, though it was raining, and after the sun went down). Time to order food (which she did not write down). I ordered a burger and fries, with a side of BBQ sauce. The food was brought by yet another "dirty" looking man, and I asked him for napkins, he said "okay"(and he never returned). The BBQ was not given to me. Our random waitress finally brought it...it was KETCHUP!..NOT BBQ! The burger was too big to eat, soggy bun, burned though I was never asked how I wanted it cooked. The fries were undercooked and nasty. All the while, watching as the host walk by showing his underwear from his sagging jeans as we ate. And after much wait(And there's no way she was busy, because the place was dead) the bill was wrong. She double charged us for vodka, and SHE became annoyed! We then did not receive a voided ticket that showed that the credit card trans. from the first one had been taken off. I then ask for a manager. The manager looked like an adult film star and showed ZERO managerial skills when talking to a customer. Place has potential, but fails miserably. Dirty Staff. Expect nada.
- Pros: Cool outside patio, menu "appears" to be desirable(however not), Chips were good.
- Cons: Garbage food, Garbage Staff, Garbage service, Garbage everything...AVOID!
Best chicken fried steak and a great, huge patio to have drinks with a bunch of your friends

The service at Ozona's is pretty good. The afternoons and nights get pretty packed, and therefore service is slightly slow (but that is expected). The food is excellent. It has always come out hot and fresh looking. for me. They also have a variety to choose from, including several salads, sandwiches, mexican food, desserts, and more. The staff is somewhat young, but makes it a perfect environment to have group parties and have a good time. They also have several drink specials. The restaraunt itself is on Greenville and it is huge!! They have a gigantic patio that has umbrellas and undercover areas. The place is nicely decorated and even has another private room for which parties can rent out (has a stage which people can have a DJ at or something). Overall the restaraunt is fantastic. The only downfall is slightly slow service when the place is packed, which again is expected. Also waitstaff I have seen can be forgetful some (probably due to the fact that the staff is so young). Great place to have a party and go have a couple of drinks with your friends! Try the potato wheels as your appetizer, spinach salad, and their chicken fried steak (#1 in Dallas apparently).
- Pros: Food is good, restaraunt looks good
- Cons: Service can be slow
Service Some times
by khiggk
The food is ok if and when it arrives, the problem is lack of service. I've given them a few chances since so many people want to meet to sit on the patio...It's a great patio, but the service is spotty! Last time I went with a group we where all laughing because we could all smell the "the special tobacco" on our server. (evidently you cannot use the M word in your review) We had lots of people (eight) and lots of different food items, when the bill came we noticed extras like some drink shots and food items no one could account for. If they could fix the problem with the help it would be ok.
- Pros: Ambience, Cold Beer
- Cons: Service, Parking
Is not one of Dallas' best.

I would not recommend this restaurant because of the lousy service. We recieved the appetizers, soups, and salads along with the entrees. We explained this to the manager which resulted in nothing. Needless to say we will never be back.
Popular restaurant on Greenville with a huge shaded patio area serves American and Tex-Mex favorites and plenty of beer.

In Short
Large trees loom over this casual restaurant, giving the multilevel patio plenty of cover on a hot summer day and seclusion from city traffic. Inside, a small, wood-paneled dining area and a larger dining room adorned with eclectic wall art are separated by a long bar. The menu is a step above pub grub with burgers, chicken-fried steak, T-bones and ribeyes. While Tex-Mex options include the build-your-own-taco, Mexican platters and chili relleno.
