Not that good these days
by skidmarkracer
bad salsa, used to be great salsa, Margarita's are vvery mediocre. This ain't you older brother's Blue Goose. I would rather eat at Taco Bell than here. Now that is bad.
- Pros: decent fajita's
- Cons: sauces, too much salt in food, cheap tasting food , dry rice
Consistently Awesome Food
by ilovefoodbycrotilda
I have been a patron of the Blue Goose for years now at various locations. My favorite at the moment is the Highland Village location with lots of shopping close by. My faves are the nachos, chicken tamales, fajitas and beef enchiladas. Love the fresh, hot, soft flour tortillas and wonderful hot sauce paired with crispy chips. The ice tea is strong and fresh. The sopapillas are so good. Will continue to visit the Blue Goose again and again!
- Pros: Great Tex Mex
- Cons: Minimum parking at the Greenville location
Yummy Food, Good Service.
by drysenhumr00
I wasn't expecting the service to be all that great considering it's Lower Greenville, but this place was awesome. My drink was always filled. It was full on a sunday afternoon guess that's why I was suprised. The food was awesome, especially the brisket queso.. to die for. I have to say the food travels well. Of course I got full on the brisket queso and took my food home. I warmed it up in the microwave and it still tasted great.
- Pros: Awesome food
- Cons: parking
Great Tex Mex on Lower Greenville!
by mrright9
Consistently Good Tex / Mex, on Famous Lower Greenville. I've not found a bad thing on the menu. My favorite is the Flautas with Tomatilla sauce. Muy Bien. Nice Bar Area; very popular place nights. Heavy lunch crowd. And the Bikers in the picture shown are the wanna-be type; mostly professionals showing off their toys. Great Place to take a date.
- Pros: Good Food, Nice Bar, Lower Greenville Patio
- Cons: Crowds, Can get Loud, Lower Greenville

I would not reccomend this establishment, I have had better Mexican/Tex-Mex food in an airport. Their refried beans taste like canned bean dip and their sauces don't seem to match the dishes they are paired with. Service is marginal, not bad but certainly not worthy of more than 20%.
- Pros: Sit on the patio and people watch, big parking lot behind the restaurant
- Cons: Food is horrible
Best Fajitas and Quickest Service
by kmscow11
If you're like me, not one Mexican restaurant is great all around, but this is one of my favorites because they have the best fajitas out of any other place that I've tried. First, you must have one of their tasty margaritas to wash down the chips and salsa because they are good enough to make that frown a big happy smile. Make sure that you are ready for your meal because after you order those fajitas, they will be on your table sizzling away in no time. Their fajitas are the best because they come out in big, juicy strips and they don't skimp on the amount of meat they give you. Every time I eat there, that is all I ever order, besides the Margaritas!!
- Pros: Fast service, food, Margaritas
- Cons: Friday and Saturday night waiting
Incredible Margaritas and Food, especially the fish taco appetizer which I wish I had the sauce receipe
by okcgwcm
Visiting from OKC having just come from the OU-Texas Red River Shootout. Was great environment, atmosphere and the Texas fans were doing there best not to rub it in. Had to frozen Margaritas during our brief 20 minute wait. Fish Tacos are a must. Guacamole might have been even better than my own receipe. Chimichanga and crab enchiladas were our entrees which were generous, temp great and taste well worth the wait. Had two more drinks at table during meal. Service was very prompt. Only negative thing was Chimicahanga - ordered beef and received chicken instead...was still grat.
- Pros: Food and drinks
- Cons: None....noise level high but was after the big game.
amazingly fast kitchen
by dallas_foodie
the blue goose has an amazingly fast kitchen, huge portions and very good quality tex-mex cuisine. my only complaint would be that the rice tastes like minute rice but that can be covered up by slathering it with queso, salsa, etc.
- Pros: large portions, fast kitchen
- Cons: mexican rice is low quality
This Lower Greenville Tex-Mex staple is popular for happy hour, dinner and Sunday brunches.

The Scene
Sienna-colored walls, dangling pinatas and partial reconstructions of a sleepy Mexican village evoke a lazy Sunday atmosphere. The energy is vibrant and fresh, as is the food. Two patios provide a view of Greenville. This is an all-ages crowd during the day, but at night, it's more of a nighttime scene. Bikers thunder in and out, parking out front.
The Food
The famous tortilla soup lives up to legend: fresh, hot broth with crunchy tortilla strips hosts bright bits of cilantro and corn, chunks of chicken and ribbons of white queso. Crunchy, thick "goose eggs" of fried jalapeno and cheese are a popular starter. The pork tamales are a seasoned meal with rice and beans. Fajitas and onions are well-seasoned. The children's menu doesn't feature the usual chicken fingers or burgers, so it's best only to bring little ones who like Tex-Mex.
