Winedale is an acquired taste

Winedale is very much a neighborhood bar. There are customers who've been there when the doors opened over 20yrs. ago. I'm a regular, one of the youngest granted, and one of the few chicks. But Winedale is like "Cheers"-everybody knows each other and cares for each other! So what if it some perceive the place as a "dive'-Winedale patrons are the most solid of them all! And I'm not kissing up to Lota! But I love her too!

• Pros: the friendliest people ever
• Cons: it can sometimes be a "sausage fest" there

Real Dive Bar in Dallas - Great Music

I got invited to Winedale Tavern last weekend with a few friends, I was a little skeptical at first because I had heard how small it was, however I had heard it was a great crowd and good music. I do LOVE Dive Bars and Dallas doesn't have very many good Dive's left. If you don't mind a crowded place then I would say check it out anytime. While I was there I ran into some people starting a website they called DallasDiveBars.

I guess it's their plan to revitalize the dive bar scene here in Dallas. I can't freaking wait to see what they have to offer, some of the things they said they had planned sound awesome - just what Dallas needs! Check out their site www.DallasDiveBarscom

Older chicks hang out there looking for young men,when they get a little inebriated...watch out !!! The place is the best,great prices,friendly people,funny bartenders...especially in the morning !!!.....and the drunken Ladies...yaahhhooo !!!

Best Karaoke anywhere, Starts at 9pm Tuesday and Thursday

They have the best sounding karaoke. Changed DJ's last July2007. Good move Loda! this guy is pro and fair. Use to only be on Thursday....Now Tuesday as well.(good move again) Tuesday and Thursday Karaoke are top notch. Great song list(big).....Tons of hot chicks that can sing...Such a passionate scene.

Great friendly dive..

Good prices,Good music,Good people. This is a proper dive.Good bartenders that know how to pour a drink. Very cozy little place. Give it a try. No yuppies allowed!!!!

The best darn dive bar in town!

Great drinks, great people, real times . This is what bars use to be! If you want to go wayyyy back when people went to bars to hang out with good people ( not fake and trendy) and wanted a good drink ( not a pineapple in the house). Then go here! You can't find a real bar in dallas anymore. I was just starting to wonder where they all went and then I found the Winedale tavern. It's right next to where the old Greenville jazz club use to be. Come on down and have a snoot full with the REAL People in Dallas!

• Pros: great drink specials, real people, almost never closed
• Cons: hard to find, the store front is very small so slow down on greenville when looking

TUESDAY NIGHT VINYL DJ AND KARAOKE

The Winedale tavern, what can I say about her?

Tuesday nights are awesome. DJ DOM spins classic rock vinyl and mix it with all sorts of modern stuff. All types of music. All types of people. Serious drink specials on Tuesday night. They have this little game they play to win your drink special!!!

~~~NEWS FLASH~~~ They now do KARAOKE on TUESDAY NIGHTS!!!!

Wednesday nights are the musician/songwriter open mic night. Simply the best place to hear the best local brewed music. Hosted by Mark. Call at 8pm to get your name on the list to jam the stage.

Dive Bars Rule!

Windale Tavern is the ultimate dive bar! Great drink specials including $3 margaritas on Wednesday and $3 martinis on Thursday. Longnecks are $1.75 during happy hour 2:30-6:30 weekdays. And a wacky hat day special on weekends with half price drinks...baseball caps are not "wacky", must be a fun/cool hat to get the special.

Great conversation place, too.

A laid-back game of pool and a beer with friends await at this Lower Greenville hangout.

The Winedale sets itself apart from the Greenville bar scene with a relaxed, no-frills feel. The narrow layout features a small stage inside the door for open-mic nights, when aspiring musicians perform. Two plastic skeletons dangle from novelty cobwebs over the bar in homage to the Grateful Dead. A single spotlit pool table in the rear always has a game going. A wide variety of customers unwind at this pleasant beer-first tavern.
