Being an IT professional, finding a quality, local parts and service shop is vital to my daily business. Located on the North side of Garland Rd. between Buckner and Jupiter, Tran Computer has proven to be a great source for used computer parts, components, and displays. While their straight-forward, no-nonsense attitude may put some people off, those interested in simply getting their parts and getting on with the day will appreciate their sometimes curt demeanor. With aisles stacked with bins of parts, fairly well organized and labelled, finding the right parts is not a difficult task, and they are happy to help if you experience difficulty in locating the right part. They also sell complete systems, have used systems for sale, and can build systems if desired. Their service desk is top rate, and, while being very busy, they are always willing to provide advice on doing it yourself if the repair is something that is easily accomplished by the computer owner. They also give on-the-spot diagnoses and can quickly tell you if they can help you, without taking your machine for days on end, only to tell you that they are unable to fix the problem. I have gone to Tran for my replacement parts for several years now, and always carry a handful of their business cards in my laptop bag for when I meet someone who needs to find a part for their machine. I highly recommend Tran to anyone looking to perform their own upgrades or repairs on their computer equipment.
