Best Maragritas and Mexican Food
by kristileandra
For my night out with my family and friends we decided to go to Uncle Julio's. I am from Houston so we took the advice of our friend who lives in Dallas. I must say I was not disappointed! The atmostphere was great. We did have an hour wait but it went by quickly. We sat and drank margarita's and snacked on chips. The service was great. We ordered fajitas and the Shrimp.. oh my gosh it was SO GOOD. My daughter ordered her fav cheese enchiladas. I will say everytime we go back to Dallas this will be one restaurant we will go to everytime!
- Pros: The Drinks, Food, The whole ambience
- Cons: Long wait at times
great food, great service, need to-go orders though

This place has great food and service in person, but what an absurdity that they wont take To-Go orders over the phone. That's ridiculous.
We're in the year 2007, someone should be capable of taking an order over the phone, and then relaying it to the kitchen. You shouldn't force customers with things to do, to come in, sit down at the bar, order to go, and then make them wait there.
Love It....Love It......Love It!

This is my favorite mexican food. I totaly disagree with the negative reviews. In the last ten years I have never waited longer than 20min. It is so good, "If there is small a wait......so what!" Go to the Keller Springs location it is a much larger restaurant, so the wait is shorter. The chips are so fesh and the salsa has a great unique flavor. Plato Gordo, is the best item on the menu, but make sure you bring a few friends to share, this platter is huge. The Chicken enchiladas are fabulous, they have the creamiest sour cream sauce, or of course you can get any sauce you want. The service is always promt and friendly. The parking? This is the trick, take one swing around the building if you don't find a space there is a parking garage just accross the street on the north side. Everything on the menu is awesome, seriously! Fajitas, burritos, quesadilla, chicken, and the RIBS!!, the BBQ sauce is so good. I know it is weird BBQ sauce at mexican restaurant, but add a little salsa throw it in a tortilla......mmmmmmmmm!
You have to try it, you'll love it! The atmosphere at the grapevine location is the best.
Good Mexican food-Too long a wait to be seated & service not good!!
by lovemykids
We have gone here several times & each time we have had to wait an unusally long time to be seated. They wait staff is not the best either. When you go be sure & go early- because the dinner crowd & the weekend crowd gets to be overwhelming as they have limited seating in the waiting area.- However, we love the food..I just wish the front staff was as good as the cooking staff.
- Pros: Very good food
- Cons: Very bad wait staff & the wait to be seated is always too long!
Underwhelmed

A few friends and I decided to give Uncle Julio's a try. We were immediately seated to a table but it took 20 minutes for a waiter to come get our orders. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas with portebella mushrooms, red peppers, and zuchinni. The salsa dip seemed a little watered down. The food was good though there was nothing about it that made me want to come back to try other things. The atmosphere was friendly but loud. Halfway through the food I realized that our waiter didn't even come back to refill our drinks. When he did it seem to take forever for him to come back with it. Price for the food was around $9-22 but I don't think I'll come back.
- Pros: Good Atmosphere
- Cons: Terrible Service
Festive atmosphere and Mexican fare make this casual chain a favorite for families and young professionals.

In Short
The bright, spacious room is all greens, reds and yellows, with painted terra-cotta walls covered with an assortment of tchotchkes. The menu features plates of chicken tamales, enchiladas with sour cream sauce, and jumbo shrmp stuffed with Jack cheese and jalapenos, wrapped in bacon and grilled. Desserts include the cajeta: a large ball of vanilla ice cream rolled in toasted coconut and pecans.
Mmm, sangria swirls...

Love the Tex-Mex and slushy cocktails at this joint. Friendly service, great for families, lots of cute gay boys.
