Horrible food, horrible noise

We went to Bob's because of its review on city search. They couldn't be more wrong. The place was overcrowded, noisy and the food was horrible. I ordered a steak medium rare and they brought out a hockey puck. When I complained about it, they said thats how they cook them. It is overpriced, no ambiance, and not a good place for a quiet dinner. The only good thing is the cigar bar, which if your not eating is great.
- Pros: good cigar bar
- Cons: horrible food; noise

Not a fan of the messy, crumbly bread, but otherwise the steaks and sides were delicious. I even saw Vern Lundquist make an appearance. The people there are fabulous though!

I have been to many of the "best" steakhouses in the country and find that I am very pleased 95% of the time. Occasionally it's just a bad night or the food is not to my liking in general or maybe the atmosphere isn't what I expected. I see a LOT of negative reviews for Bob's, which confuses me. I dine at Bob's regularly because in my experience it is consistently the best steak I have found. The service is always pleasant and prompt. The atmosphere is a little over the top sometimes but you know that is possible when going to Bob's. I am referring to the Lemmon location of course. I can't imagine a reason I would ever go to Plano for a steak. Maybe it's just the culture that turn first time visitors off. Maybe it's expectations of a steak cooked at Outback. Maybe I've been lucky these past years. It is also a little confusing as to why someone would go to Bob's and order a ribeye? Who does that? Anyhow. Perfect steak all the time. I recommend Bob's
- Pros: Fantastic steak
- Cons: Noisy (sometimes)
The best steak I have ever had!

Wow! I traveled on business recently to Dallas and went here with my sales rep. We were late for our reservation because of traffic, but they got us seated in about 15 minutes after missing the time. The wine list had anything and any price range you are looking for including high end Cognac and dessert wines.
We started with the jumbo shrimp cocktail and crabcakes appetizer. Delicious! I lived in Baltimore for a year, and this is very close to the taste of a Maryland style crab cake. The shrimp were huge.
I had the bone in ribeye, and it melted in my mouth it was so good. Who needs kobe beef when you can get an outstanding steak this tender and juicy. The service was excellent.
I will go back every time I visit Dallas!
- Pros: The best steak in town.
- Cons: Not cheap. Go to Saltgrass or Outback if $45 for a steak is too much.
Service that is above and beyond what you could expect!

An evening here is well worth the drive into Dallas for us! We experienced service that was a touch above some of our other favorites. A great time all around and the steaks were perfect.
- Pros: food was wonderful and the serviced matched the best out there.
- Cons: long drive for us into Dallas on a Friday night, but well worth it! *****:)
Very good ribeye

I had dinner here on Tuesday w/ a friend. We both had the bleu cheese salad for our appetizer which was good. My friend had the crab cakes for her entre. It was served cold which I did not like & it lacked much flavor. I had the bone-in ribeye which was very good. It was very flavorful and more tender than usual for a ribeye, almost like a filet.
- Pros: bone-in ribeye
- Cons: crab cakes
Best steak in Dallas bar none!

I don't care what people say about other steaks in Dallas, (ie. Pappa's, Nick and Sam's, blah, blah, blah) Bob's is the best steak period! Everything about this place is awesome. Don't listen to these other reviews. They probably went to another steakhouse and got confused as to where they were. The steak is perfection! A bonus is that the menu is not completely ala carte, meaning that all entrees come with the best carrot ever cooked and choice of potatoes. And as mentioned before they have great martini's. You can't lose here.
- Pros: The best steak ever!
- Cons: It's not free.

I was excited to finally be able to eat at one of the most talked about steakhouses I know. They have a fabulous wine menu and I enjoyed myself overall, but I would have to say I am not sure what all the hype is about.

It almost seems silly to write a review for Bobs Steak and Chop House. They have received excellent reviews from the Dallas Morning News, to D Mag, the Observer and on and on. All I can say is, it's the best steak and chop house in Dallas!

This has one of the best filets. The atmosphere is more big business with sports games on. Del Frisco's is a little more date friendly though the quality of both are phenomenal.

I had stopped by earlier in the week to make reservations for my wifes birthday. The receptionist was very gracious and took all the information. When we arrived for our 7PM reservations we were seated quickly. Our server gave her spiel and left the menu's but told us she had a party of 25 which she was also serving. So we ordered our wine a glass of my favorite winerey in California and when that was served we ordered our meal salads and meat entree, I was surprised that it was cooked on a flat iron grill, I must admit it was well trimed so very little fat left on the meat. From that point on we were ignored as far as service was concerned, I called for the manager I told him I thought that the service was appalling and all he had to say was "I'm sorry" I reiderated that it was my wife's birthday but he had no comments. I told him that the menu represents service for the pricing which I did not feel we received and again all I got was "I'm sorry" as he hastily left the table. We ordered coffee and my wife was offered the standard dessert which comes with all birthday's. She chose the Key Lime Pie and it came with pastry instead of standard graham cracker crust, I have tasted better pastry from a super market freezer. I would not recommend my worst enemy to dine there.
