ALL STAR DINING PLACE

by JANEDONNA at Citysearch

I don't get to Dallas very often unfortunately, but Big Al's is my number one stop. I have never had a bad meal there and my only problem is to keep myself from eating everything at one sitting. I have to make more than one trip there.

  • Pros: EVERYTHING
  • Cons: TOO MANY DELICIOUS CHOICES FOR ONE TIME

Best Party Ever!

by EastWest at Citysearch

Big Al's really made my company event great. They were very professional and had everything set up just the way I wanted. The food was great, just as good as in the restaurant. My guests kept going back for more and Big Al's kept them fed and happy. I will definately use them for my next party.

  • Pros: Great Food and Professional Service
  • Cons: People at more than I planned

Best BBQ in Dallas - LOVE IT!

by extxNWgirl at Citysearch

I have been going to Big Al's since I was a kid. My dad always took me, and it has been my favorite ever since. I have visited almost every barbecue in Dallas and Austin, and I still think Big Al's has the best food and the yummiest sauce ever!

Whenever I'm in town, I make it a point to stop by and get my fix! YUM!!

  • Pros: Authentic TX BBQ! Great ribs, sauce, brisket & SAUSAGE!!
  • Cons: Only get there couple times a year - far from WA :)

Great BBQ at BiIG AL'S so much better than the" Dallas Famous BBQ''S"you read about.

by easy43 at Citysearch

I may be a red neck but I have eaten BBQ all over this country, including all the so called great South Texas establishments. I was taken to Big Al'S about 20 years ago. Now I take my clients there whenever I can. Their food is always great, just go their for lunch and see the lines. I have also had them deliver food to customers and I always get great results.

I agree with those other reviews-about the very negative reviews being bogus.

  • Pros: worth the wait
  • Cons: they need more air conditioning

Horrible service

by lh2262 at Citysearch

I received horrible service from this restaurant. They just didn't seem to care that my husband and I were there. I really hated the people that worked there because they were just plain rude. I drove pretty far to go to this restaurant because I thought it would be good but that was just a waste of gas. I have tasted way better barbeque from other restaurants for cheaper than this place. Their food was barely ok but I would never say it was good. I am never going back to this place and I am never going to recommend it to anyone.

  • Pros: Lots of parking spots
  • Cons: Horrible service, food wasn't that good

Worst BBQ I've ever Tasted!!! Horrible Service!!!!

by TexasHomeGrown at Citysearch

The BBQ was burnt and dry. The service was horrible. No management. Cold food. Dry Brisket. Stale vag. If I could talk to big al i'd slizap him in his face(with words) then defecate on his head with contipated laziness, then i would force feed him his defecation brisket, then give him vinegar water to wash it down with. This is what my trip to big al's was like. I give it one star for originality in that i've never actually paid for dry brisket but if that's what's hot right now(stale dry beef) then that's what's hot right now. I'll prolly never see al to defecate on him but if i do he better get his unbrella cuz it's gonna rain contipoo. Later

  • Pros: brothers make better bbq fo sho
  • Cons: white man can't cook

Tuesday is rib day!!

by amyjacksontx at Citysearch

I agree that the bad review has to be a competitor. I still live here and while i don't go regularly I recommend it to anyone who asks me for the best barbeque in town. Their ribs are fantastic!

  • Pros: The best ribs in Dallas
  • Cons: Long line at lunch

Centrally located barbecue spot offers a plethora of party services, as well as a dining room for lunch or dinner.

In Short
Red trim and vinyl covered booths greet you like old friends in this 50's-style dining room. Al's serves groups at family-size wood tables. A kid-friendly dessert menu features fresh baked cookies and Big Red soda. Out-of-town guests arriving at Love Field Airport are only two blocks from authentic Texas barbecue.

Been going here for 30 years - best BBQ in town!

by imisstx at Citysearch

Wow! What is that guy talking about? I think this is by far the best BBQ in Dallas. And the ribs and sauce are the highlight! I recently moved away from Dallas, and I don't ever miss the chance to eat at Big Al's when I'm home for a visit. In fact, I actually have Big Al's shipped up to me in the cold Midwest once in a while.

Sorry dpman, that review makes me think you're not for real. Looks like something the competition would write.

Probably the worst pork ribs I've ever had!

by dpman39 at Citysearch

Ok folks, this joint probably have the worst pork ribs I've ever had in my life. They were tasteless and burnt; I'd give the sauce 3 out 10. I should have known better based on the lack of reviews. My search will continue for the best barbeque in Dallas.

  • Pros: large portion size, price
  • Cons: Tasteless barbeque!
